IKEA Items I Fell in Love With

From pleated lamps to joyful stripes and a swivel chair that sparks joy, here are the IKEA finds that won my design-loving heart — equal parts functional, fun, and full of personality.

@irinaacalin

I'm just a girl — with a soft spot for eclectic style, breathable fabrics, joyful colors, and anything that brings good vibes into a room. I love products that feel good to use (yes, I notice UX in furniture), that glow with warm light (lamps forever!), and that strike the right balance between function and feeling.

So when IKEA gets it right — and they really do sometimes — I fall fast. This post is a love letter to the pieces that stopped me in my scroll. The ones that made me think: you, I want in my space.

Here are the IKEA items I fell hard for — beautifully designed, surprisingly functional, and full of personality.

1. KUDDLÅVA Table Lamp – Pleated White

This little lamp is giving quiet luxury meets vintage charm. The pleated shade, the sculptural shape — it feels designer without the price tag. It makes even my bedside table feel more styled and intentional.

2. HÄCKPÖPPEL Decorative Bowl with Base – Brown

This one surprised me. It has this moody, earthy tone and a strong silhouette that instantly upgrades a shelf or coffee table. It looks artisanal, like something you picked up from a boutique pottery studio.

3. SILVERPÄRON Tealight Holder – Bright Red

Bold color lovers, this is for you. It’s tiny, but it pops. I placed one on a stack of books on my shelf and suddenly that whole corner felt brighter. Functional and decorative? Yes, please.

4. DOFTBRÄKEN Vase – Dark Blue

This vase has such depth — that inky blue glaze feels like it should cost 5x more. I love how it works both empty (sculptural!) and full (hello, farmer’s market stems). It’s heavy, solid, and seriously luxe.

5. STOCKHOLM 2025 Tealight Holder – Clear Glass

Simple, clear, and weirdly elegant. This one’s all about the subtle beauty of light refraction. I’ve grouped a few together for a quiet, sparkly moment on the dinner table. It works with everything.

6. DYVLINGE Swivel Chair – Kelinge Orange

This chair is my happy place. It's popular for a reason. It swivels (which, yes, I find endlessly entertaining) and the orange fabric brings such warmth and energy into the room. It’s small-space friendly and super comfy — a rare combo.

7. SLÅNHÖSTMAL Duvet Cover and Pillowcase – Orange/Pink Stripe

This bedding feels like a serotonin boost. It’s vibrant, playful, and a little retro — in the best way. Perfect for a bedroom that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Plus: soft. Very soft.

8. SYMFONISK Sonos Speaker Lamp – White Glass Shade

Okay, this one is pure genius. A lamp and a speaker, and somehow it doesn’t compromise on either. The sound quality is surprisingly rich, and the look? Soft, minimal, and totally blends in. Smart and stylish — like the best kind of roommate.

9. STOCKHOLM 2025 Rug – Green/White/Black Handwoven

I love fun, colorful rugs, and this one? Chef’s kiss. The pattern is bold but grounded, the colors are fresh but not too loud. And it’s handwoven! It gives my space texture and personality without overwhelming it.

So there you have it — my current IKEA obsessions. Each one checks a box on my design wishlist: form, function, and that little spark that makes me excited to style my space. Honestly, it’s kind of wild how good IKEA has gotten at nailing the details.

Have a favorite from this list (or one I should check out)? Come share your own finds — I’m always down to fall in love with one more thing.
