We painted our cabinets, used the right paint and primer that Lowe's recommended..the paint still got chipped around the knobs..these backplates solved the problem, and look great with our brushed nickel knobs..

The answer to a sticky problem
They told us at the paint store it's OK to use their latex paint on kitchen cabinets because it had primer in it. No. It lasted mere months around the knobs where fingers touched the paint and looked awful. These backplates made it instantly better, covering the ugly and preventing fingers from even touching the painted surface. Quality finish, matches our brushed nickel knobs. Win win.
