Not worth it

Terrible quality. Bad paint job, sleeve that holds umbrella does not line up properly to base. Plastic insert that should hold umbrella stable to small to fit standard size umbrella; had to remove leaving an opening to fill with water and umbrella not secure. Not as heavy as our previous concrete stand. Tried to return, but was going to be charged $* for shipping. Will not be ordering from BBB again.

Pretty and sturdy

Bought this together with a wonderful umbrella (reviewed elsewhere). This review is written three years later and the umbrella with its stand has lasted through quite some storms -- without collapsing. Also it is a very nice stand -- in addition to being sturdy.

It’s a little too lite for a dependable stand. I am only using it with a 7 ft market umbrella and the table will shake and blow over in medium winds. I wouls suggest you consider a heavier base than this model.

We set-up the umbrella stand w/umbrella on a sunny day...

We set-up the umbrella stand w/umbrella on a sunny day with a VERY on and off breeze. Before we knew it a light wind came and blew the stand w/umbrella over and almost conked one of our guests on the head. Info said 17.5 lbs.

Don't waste your money.

I should know better...you get what you pay for. The base is really just not useful. The tube doesn't connect well and our umbrella is at an angle. Even if it were straight I can knock it off balance with the slightest of bumps....If you have any wind at all, your umbrella will be on the ground. I should have realized it's both too small and too light to really be useful. It's also not even able to keep an umbrella standing straight. Do not waste your money.

Marie: The umbrella base was packaged in styrofoam while the paint was still wet. The base was also poorly painted. I am returning the product to my local Home Depot. I would not recommend this product.

This is a cheaply made stand and not worth $50. The Styrofoam packaging adhered to the top of the base and it doesn't come off, just a mess. The paint is poorly done, it's shiny, blotchy overspray. It looks like the foam stuck to the paint... It's going back.

we needed a Base with 2” diameter pole to fit...

we needed a Base with 2” diameter pole to fit our new 11 ft umbrella. Many Bases for sale will not fit umbrella with 1.9” pole. We are using Base under our table (not stand-alone) and it was best price compared to any others I could find online.
