High quality grey Kohler toilet

We were replacing an old grey toilet. This was a high quality Kohler toilet.

Sturdy and Attractive

We purchased this grab bar as one component of the line of new plumbing fixtures we chose. Boy, are we glad. Not only does it blend in, but it doesn’t evoke the assumption that a handicapped person lives here. Our contractor graded the tile floor of our walk-in shower a little too steeply (it is like standing in a canoe without a paddle) and this grab bar restores a much-needed sense of safety.

It’s more flat not round like on the pictures.

A really bad design. I gave up on trying to get the under plate attached. It kept getting covered by the outer plate. I nought a new one from a different manufacturer that provides easy access to the attaching screw holes.

I give this grab bar five stars since it is built strong, definitely not a piece of junk. But be warned installation is a little tricky. The wall mounting brackets must be rotated perfectly so as to accept the retaining set screws on the bar. I was also worried the decorative ring that hides the set screws on each end would not fit snugly but they fit into place perfectly. This application was on drywall at a diagonal position next to a toilet. Overall we are very pleased with its looks and function.

Glad I got it

Installation requires precise vertical alignment of long hex screws and last minute adjustments are not easy if the stud mounted end is already installed. I was able to make small adjustments at the bar-in-the-wall end in order to get the screws into place. The vertical bar-in-the-wall was new to me and a bit tricky, but when completed seemed better than just using plastic drywall anchors. When done, this baby is solid, and I think would probably hold 300 pounds. It is also beautiful and strongly made with quality stainless steel. Definitely worth the money and time.

Difficult to Install

The tolerance of mating the wall brackets to the grab bar is absurd. Your brackets have to be perfectly perpendicular to the grab bar so the set screws will pass through the bracket. This bar, and other delta bars i have purchased, does NOT come with a template for the brackets, which blows my mind. You better be REALLY good with your measuring tape and hope your drill bit doesn't drift even a millimeter or your bracket won't engage the bar. A real pain with tile.

18 inch Shower Hand Bar

This is a very nice quality hand bar for a bath/shower but I found it too large for my needs and returned it.

This item appears to have modern victorian look mounting brackets.
