Don't wash them!!
I purchased 6 of these rugs for my bathroom. I have a large bathroom. They looked fantastic!! After some time, I decided to wash them (like any normal person would). I followed the washing directions to a T. The rugs pretty much fell apart. I'm SUPER bummed. These aren't exactly the cheapest rugs either! I gave 3 stars based off before washing them. Super comfy, nice color, decent size for a large bathroom.
Disappointed
I purchased this because I love the colors…however, the colors aren’t even close to the dark brown picture in the photo. Having said that, I am keeping them because I really like the design. It’s different from all the other bath mats. Just wish the brown was darker.
Fell apart
This rug set was cute - but we never got to use it. I always wash items before using due to sensitivities to dye and whatever is on the fabric after manufacturing or warehouses. Care instructions said they could be machine washed and dried. The rugs lost handfuls of lint in the washer and dryer, and each “pebble” still had pilling of lint that made the rugs unsightly. They fell apart in the process of trying to remove all of the pilling… sad story.
I received the rugs, and was so happy that the colors fit into my home perfectly. That's the good part. I planned to wash the rugs before I used them. So...I shook them out. It looked like a snowstorm in my yard.! I kept shaking them to remove the lint, and the "snowstorm" kept happening. Shaking them even pulled out clumps of the fleece. I'd hate to have seen the inside of my washer if they had been washed. I returned them.
Was kinda disappointed with this rug as while you wash it and dry it , it leaves alot.of the rig material in your washer and dryer. After removing all the stray pieces of material it does look great in our bathroom. Just gets frustrating to have to do this with every wash. I have three of the rugs so ot is very time consuming having to constantly do this with each wash. I wish some how they could change the material and be more friendly when washing and drying
Looks aren't everything!
These rugs are so pretty on my bathroom floor but I should have read the reviews first before purchasing! They smelled like they were in a moldy warehouse when I opened the plastic wrapping they were sent in so I decided to wash them first before putting down on the floor. Just as everyone else mentioned, there was SO much lint and debris left in the washing machine after the cycle finished and to make matters worse, there was an even crazier amount of lint and debris in the dryer when they finished drying! I've never seen anything like this honestly! I'm afraid to wash them again for fear of ruining my new washer and dryer! While they are very pretty online, they aren't the best quality at all. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. The quality doesn't match up with the price.
Colors
I ordered 2 rugs and one runner. the runner is perfect but while the colors of the rugs match each other, they don't match the runner. The one color in the runner is brown while the color in the rugs has a more gray tone to it. They should match. Also, the pebbles on the rugs actually are not flush with the rug which makes it uncomfortable to walk on. already been in use with packing items thrown away or would return.
Rose Shade Pebbles Rug: Soft, with Color and Quality True to Photos
Tue Jun 13, 2023: I purchased four of these rugs in the rose colorway, and 2 of the runners in the gray, in July of 2021. I then relocated and for some reason stored them rolled up without actually using them until 2 years (!) later. At time of delivery, they were soft, and true to color and quality as to how they looked in the photos. The rose/pink color is a true blush pink with peach tone to it, which is what I wanted. The gray colorway is true to color as well. One of the reviews stated that the background color of the rugs was more taupe than white but that is not correct! The background is a true white. Today I test washed two of the of the rose rugs to see how they fare in the washing machine (as they might be a bit dusty from sitting rolled up and not being used). I'm expecting some shedding as per other reviews of these rugs... Later... After washing: A LOT of shedding. I ended up with about a handful for both rugs together which I really didn't think was that bad, to be honest. I wiped it out of the washing machine and off of the rugs and then put both rugs into the dryer. After drying: Firstly, I had to change the lint filter about 3 times before the rugs were finished drying lol. Using the low heat setting, it took a little over two 60 minute cycles. Conclusion: These rugs actually wash and dry beautifully. They do shed a lot for the first washing and drying, but so do a lot of towels and/or clothing. The rugs are 100% cotton which I also love about them. While the texture changes after washing, I like how it looks, more fluffy and puffy, less flat. I had an idea to use the ones I bought in the rose colorway as either floor rugs in the bathroom or as washable (bonus!) wall hangings in the bathroom. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
HORRIBLE! DO NOT BUY!!
I got these smashed in a box- very matted up. Decided to wash to "fluff" them up. Washed on delicate in cold. Came out of washer with clumps of "fabric". Thought the dryer would take care of excess "lint". Started the dryer on low (all wash and dry according to directions) but after 5 minutes had a bad feeling- took out of dryer- MORE "lint". These rugs were essentially losing the fabric? Yarn? They went INTO THE GARBAGE after cleaning out the washer and dryer and then having to clean out a sweeper and shop vac!! Will now try to get my money back. Not returning! They're in the dumpster- don't want to inflict these falling apart pieces of garbage on the Kohls employees!
These don't wash well!
These are cute bathroom rugs, and were perfect for my decor, but beware! They are a nightmare in the washer and dryer! You'll definitely want to take them to a laundromat to wash because they shed so badly in my washer that I was scraping the fuzzies from the insides of the drum. I hung them outside to dry and only put them in the dryer for about 20 minutes to fluff, and they came out nicely but the dryer was a mess and down inside the lint catcher I had to dig around to get all of the debris out. Also, a lot of the threads have already pulled loose just after this one washing. I wouldn't order these again. Thank goodness I didn't order that third rug I was considering.
Nasty and Trashy
These arrived yesterday in a damaged cheap box. The rugs were secured in plastic wrap which was not damaged.
Very poor quality
I've come to expect a lot more from Kohls. These looked like really cheap rugs, but I thought maybe washing them would help fluff them up. So much fabric came off the rugs that my washer machine's filter got clogged and now my garage is a mess. If they had been a better quality, they would be awesome. The design was exactly what I was looking for. I'm so disappointed.
Terrible Rugs
The rugs were really cute when I opened them. However, when I took them out the package, rug lint was coming off all over the place. I put them in the dryer, on low for 10 minutes, to fluff them up. My dryer was overflowing with lint from the rugs in big clumps. I will be RETURNING them to Kohl’s. Very poor quality and they were a little expensive. Very disappointed. Unusual for anything from Kohl’s.
Love/Hate Relationship
I’ve had these rugs for about a year now. I find them to be lovely, very soft, and adequate at absorbing water when we step out of the shower. They have been washed a number of times in my washing machine with cold water and then they go into the dryer on the permanent press setting with warm heat. They come out of the dryer still damp, so I then put then in the sun or under a fan to fully dry. When they dry fully I just shake them out and honestly they look just as lovely as the day I bought them. That’s the love part. The hate part is that as others have commented, they shed like crazy. I stop the dryer a couple of times and clean the lint filter while they are drying, and when they are completely dry and I give them that final shake (always outside) and its a fuzz flurry. I vacuum them in between washes and that results in a fuzz fest in the vacuum cannister and in the wand of the vacuum. It’s just crazy, but guess what, I’m on this HomeDepot site because I’m thinking of ordering another set for other areas. Go figure—they are a pain, but they’re kind of worth the extra effort!🤷🏻♀️
No non-skid back & heavy lint
I bought for 2 reasons - the color and that it said there was a spray-on latex back. First, the colors were far lighter and a different tint than I ordered. That, however, has been a constant with online ordering of any kind. I wanted a non-skid rug. When I got the rugs, I put one on my tile floor and tried to move it with my foot. It stuck. Good. So then I washed them to get rid of excess lint. Wow, I had to clean out the washer tub, where large pieces of lint stuck to it. Then I picked off other large pieces of lint from off the rugs before drying. During drying I emptied the lint trap 3 times, and then picked off more lint after drying. I would say about 20% of the volume of the rugs was lost, and of course, the non-skid properties were gone as well. On the flip side, the rugs are a nice soft cotton. Cheaply made, but still soft and also cheerful coloring, despite not being the coloring I was expecting.
So Very Bad
Okay. The color is nice. And, that’s where the pros for this bath rug set end. At first glance they weee thinner than they should be? Of you stepped in them the white under-stitching immediately showed through.
Cute and Soft
Super cute rugs! I bought one long one for my double sink and two others for in front of the shower and to go in front of my laundry machines. I can’t speak to washing them (as I haven’t yet), though I haven’t had issues with my washing machine not doing well on this type of product. I imagine I will hang them to dry to make them last even longer. I lightly vacuum them (with a wand) to remove daily dust/per hair and they do well with this. They are super soft and do not slide around (as the backing has a slight latex spray to assist in them not sliding around). Overall, they are very pretty and a great buy (especially when on sale). I gave them 4 stars simply because I’m not sure they’ll last years and years (they do shed a bit) but I never keep bath mats for years as they ALL just get a little beat up over time.

I have had these rugs about a year. They have held up well. They have been washed approximately every three months, air dry. There is a slight curling at the corners but you can uncurl them as you lay the rug flat again. It would be nice if it had a non-slip backing but they do stay down fairly well because of their weight. I really like the colors however the cream colored backing can show through on the dark brown color. You can 'comb' the fibers to cover up the light spots. Design wise perhaps it would have been better to mix the dark brown/cream instead of the tan/cream combo so that the backing showing through would be lessened.
Great! Nonslip and heavyweight
Great rugs! I ordered the spa color. I'm not sure about the reviews indicating a color difference from what is pictured and received. The color of rugs I received were what is pictured. I think any remarks toward color difference might be an issue with particular monitor settings. In any event, thick and fluffy rugs overall. Very pleased! I love how the rugs have different textures so it (very slightly) feels like you are walking on rocks. The backing of the rugs don't have that (cheap) rubber backing like most of the Mainstay brands, but the thick stitching and heavy weight ensures non-slip. 100% cotton and machine washable!
Cobblestone design compliments my ceramic tile
Completely satisfied with this pair of scatter rugs. Been looking for something for 3 years that I love. This is it. The design fit with the odd color scheme in my new home's lower bathroom. The color I chose was khaki. There is a very slight defect in some of the design but not very noticeable. It is a soft rug with a light anti-slip backing on them. I wanted this feature or no backing so it wouldn't be a hassle to dry them. They are brand new so I haven't washed them yet. I think they are going to be my favorite rugs for a long time. My daughter liked them and ordered 2 sets for herself and because of that I decided to order another 2 sets for myself because of the clearance price. They are just right in thickness keeping feet away from the cold ceramic tile underneath. The varigated colors pop against the tile I have.
