This is gorgeous. It was up and on the wall in minutes

I bought unfinished and it is truly rough. I will need to sand it before putting it up. I should have bought a large piece if wood from the lumber yard and cut to size for a fraction of the price. Not worth the price.

I bought two of the 24” shelves and will be returning them. The aged oak color is much warmer than it appears in the photos. The finish is also extremely rough which wasn’t clear in the photos. I ran my hand across the top of the shelf and got a splinter. You’d never be able to dust these without a cloth getting snagged. If the top and bottom was as smooth as the front edge I think they’d be much more useable. They are very heavy and sturdy and seem well made, however.

Beautiful, heavy, and solid mantle piece. Too bad the quality of the workmanship suffered, thus rendering it 4 instead of 5 stars. The channel that holds the support bracket was cut too short, making the support bracket overlap and not sit flush. So i had to chisel it out to make it fit. The hole for the set screws did not align, rendering the set screws that were not, but were supposed to be included useless anyway. I was able to drill the necessary hole for some makeshift set screws to be able to secure the piece to the support rods. For the price paid, Im disappointed with the workmanship.

These shelves are amazing. Easy to install and look fantastic. I couldn’t be happier!

Second time was the charm. First one was blemished and warped but a replacement arrived promptly. I left it in package 72 hrs to acclimate. Second one is slightly warped but well within my tolerance. The color looks great with our paint colors and the price was super reasonable.

There were a couple of necks. I had to use some brown paint to cover, but it is exactly as described otherwise. We actually love this a lot. The surface is definitely weathered and rough, but it’s really great super easy to install.

These were darker than the Dogberry Collections Aged Oak fireplace mantel. I didn't think about the fact that they are made out of different woods. We like the color of these shelves however!

Although I really like the product in general - size, wood quality and color, when I ordered the shipping date kept shifting/prolonging as I was told the item was out of stock, but it was not when I placed the order. It took over 4 weeks for it to arrive. When I opened it and tried to put it up myself the entire wood piece was warped and distorted on the right and left sides and it did not sit correctly on top of my fireplace.

The name on these shelves should change from unfinished to ruff and unfinished

Bought 3 shelves shipping was delayed by more then to weeks due shipment being cancelled. I had call HD to get the shipment sent out. Once i got them they were warp and twisted. Luckily, I have a planner and a joiner and I was able to straighten them out and get them to a better finish. Had to put a whole days worth of work and getting them straightened out and Square. Not worth the price if you dont have good wood working tools like a planner and jointer.

If you want to pay 200 for a piece of rough lumber that you can buy for 30 at the lumber yard go for it. This is ridiculous it is a piece of rough lumber that is also warped I could only put it in my barn to match the rest of the lumber. And Wayfair wants me to pay return shipping!!! They lost me

Not happy.

Looks amazing!! The coloration, thickness, and length are exactly what I was looking for in a natural wood mantel. The directions that came were very simple and straight forward. It also included a level that is super useful. I give 4 stars because while installation should have been easy, for some reason it would not align in the last step to secure the mantel to the support beam. Not sure if it was my wall or the actual construction of the piece, but eventually got it to work. I have to look into additional supports as Im not 100 certain it will hold many decorations.

I was not at all happy with the quality of this shelf. It was extremely warped and also had a severe imperfection in the wood. The dimensions were not what was stated on the website. Hence, this shelf was not acceptable. I am extremely disappointed with wayfair for forcing me to pay return shipping on a product of substandard quality. David McGill

Bought and mounted in Juky. It's now December 1st and this mantel is horribly warped. Do not recommend.
