When I'm shopping for conductive materials my go-to material is gold, but in some cases it's just way too expensive. In the case of this cord I find the copper the manufacture uses is on par with refined gold for electron transmission speed and reliability. True, pure gold would allow the electrons to reach my printer at a speed approximately 1 x -1,000,000,000,000 ms faster, but for the $9,700 difference in price I'll make the concession. After all, what are a few picoseconds among friends. As for the outer jacket, well let me tell you, baby seal skin would have been my first preference. Since harvesting baby seals to provide supple cable jacket material is frowned upon in most cultures (including those who profit from such practices), I'll settle from the PVC material this cord is built with. I am a photographer and need longer power cables for my lights. The standard ones that come with my flash units are only 10 feet long, which means that I then have to carry extra extension cords. These are the perfect length, 25 feet, to safely come down from a light on an overhead boom, down to the base of the lights stand, and then on to the outlet. The final image shows the reason why I need such a long power cable for my lighting. These cables are HEAVY DUTY as well - you can tell from the weight of the cable that they are made from quality materials, and 18AWG wire will handle up to 10 amps safely - well within the needs of my lights. It is safer to have a single run of wire than to have multiple jumps of extension cords - and these are suiting my needs perfectly!

I just purchased this product and have only used it once but I needed it right away! My pressure cooker comes with an unreasonably short cord and I would not have been able to make dinner had I not purchased this longer cord. It works great, just be sure if you are using it for a pressure cooker that you leave no slack hanging loosely because the extra cord can be tugged on and send the whole thing crashing down.

I'm so glad I found this. I bought this because I threw away the power cord to my tailgate speaker by mistake and thought "Oh No!, what do I do now?" My first instinct was to call Radio Shack but then remembered that I'm no longer in the 80's or 90's. Next thought was to call Best Buy but then remembered that they never have anything in stock so then I googled "Power Cord Replacement" and it brought me here.
