worth the cost
I used to shop for the least expensive filters but this time I decided to try this nuch higher priced filter. Look for the higher MERV number to get the best air quality in your home. Especially if you want to eliminate the most dust and dander as well as smaller particles like molds and bacteria in the home. I live on a busy street, and we already notice the difference in air quality after only a few weeks use. No more saving a few bucks for me! Out health is worth a few extra dollars!
Great filter, helps to rid pet dander and dust.
This filter works like no other for the price, I will always buy this filter if it’s available. Don’t think twice about buying this item. If you care about the health of your lungs you should always fork over the extra few dollars for a premium air filter. There is a big difference in this filter and the bottom tier filters.
Helps with smells and dust.
This filter helps with smells as well as dust. Our HVAC tech said we might have reduced air flow with these, but the air flow is strong. No problem. Very happy with this filter. I wanted the best.
So worth it!
This filter works perfectly and you can tell the change almost instantaneously; especially since I’m an allergy sufferer. I can breathe freely in my own home. This filter lasted us about 4-6 mos. Nice change for us but it’s so worth it if you suffer from any kind of air allergy or dander.
3M 1500 MPR Filtrete
Bought the item for my place which is located not too far from a highway, and therefore I had noticed with the existing filter (not a 3M brand, which was left for me to use by the previous tenant) I was noticing even soon after having changed the non 3 M filter, I would start to have increased coughing and or eye burning, and I had a hunch that the filter was not doing an adequate job of filtering, so I looked around and I chose this specific 3M filter since it was made/assembled in the USA (to me that usually means, the item is a better quality and attention to detail is paid.) Needless to say, this item has solved all the problems, I can breath better and my eyes are not burning. The air in my home actually feels fresh. So long as this item is made/assembled in the USA, I intend to continue to buy it.
Good value, even if it has to be cut to size
The filter, though too large a size for my Carrier/Bryant air handler (20x21.5x1) works quite well when cut to size with the cut edge covered with the extra cardboard edging. The fine aluminum mesh is best cut with a scissors -- a bandsaw is too likely to catch the mesh and jam it in the guide wheels (don't ask). Definitely noticed the difference in filtration from the OEM fiberglass dust bunny catching filter it replaced. With the large number of pleats it seems the air volume passing through the filter isn't excessively reduced.
Double check before you purchase
I thought it was 3 filters for $25.00, So when only 1 arrived I was surprised. I must have picked the wrong one. But since we're here, after reading a lot of info, anything over Merv 7 could be making your air system work harder, this would be great for respiratory problems. But we have been change out our filter last few years more frequently with all the wild fires and issues. I was looking for more affordable filters. Go for the pleated brands instead of a flat filter.
Lasts one week
Works so well filtering that it gets itself badly clogged within a week. My AC is two years old and my house is obsessively cleaned daily, can’t imagine what would happen in a dusty home or to an older system. The lack of airflow is quickly noticeable, it’ll start making a whistling sound and the unit struggles to cool the house. I worry it’ll break my AC if I don’t change the filter every 7-10 days. Expensive product to replace so often and create so much garbage but it does make a big difference in air quality. If you’re willing to go through 3 a month then it’s worth it, I have a hard time justifying the purchase.
I love 3M Filtrete filters and have used them exclusively for at least 15 years. They are certified asthma allergy friendly. They protect against allergens, bacteria and viruses., as well as common unwanted particles like smoke, pollen, mold spores, dust, lint, pet dander and so much more. It’s easy on air flow and saves energy and money. They last for up to three months and have an app to remind you that it’s time for them to be changed. Highly recommend for clean air!!
Great Filters at a Great Price!
I've been using these filters for years but this was my first time to purchase from Zoro, both are outstanding!
[Rewarded Review] Great value, correct filtration for our system
I started to question the validity of using the higher filtration when I thought of the analogy of sucking air through a straw. This sent me on an investigation, and after reading many post, professional HVAC installers/repairmen recommend these type of filters as you're protecting your equipment, not filtering your outputted air as that's done by a dedicated device, which our system does not have installed. So I have wasted money and potentially risked damaging my HVAC, not to mention increased energy bill by making it strain to take in air. Don't take my word for it, do your own research and you will see this is solid science. Change these out once a month, save money, protect your HVAC the proper way. If you need a dedicated air filtration system added to your HVAC, have one professionally installed or do your research to add one.
[Rewarded Review] We're Slobs!
For many years we've purchased those scrungie pad-like filters. On a whim I spent the big bucks and upgraded to the 1500 MPR Ultra Allergen last year. Boy, does it get dirty fast! We have dogs, a dog door, live in the country and I'm always tracking in lots of 'stuff.' Yep, the filter suggests a 90-day performance, but if I can get 45-days we're doing well. That said, it gets full of debris! I must also say that my wife's asthma condition has improved over the past year and I'm no longer scratching my back against the walls. Now if you're a normal family I'm sure the filter will last much longer. Either way, this filter traps more of the dusts, hairs, micro-bugs and other atmospheric irritants than I could have imagined! We feel healthier with better air filtration! Also, during the last HVAC service we were told that the ducts and evaporator(?) coils have never been cleaner. That's got to be good for the efficiency of our HVAC system and our checkbook.
Great for Allergy and Asthma!
I have tried several different brands of filters over the past several years. I have allergies as well as asthma (cough variant). I first tried this filter by taping it to a box fan to purify the air in my home. I quickly noticed I needed fewer Kleenex tissues and my coughing (asthma) declined significantly. I have 3 furnace return filters, one 20x25, and 2 of the 12x12 size. I now use this filter on all returns and keep the 20" box fan running with a filter taped to it most of the time. Great relief for asthma & allergy sufferers!
