All looks, no substance. So I was originally looking for an AKDY with analog controls in black steel at closer to 600 cfm, but it was unavailable. This was the most similar product I could find. Reasonably priced, reasonable airflow rating, a supposed 7 inch outlet, and most importantly it was available. Upon opening the disappointment began. The supposed 7 inch outlet was merely an adapter ring. There was no knockout, no 7 inch adapter, just the dainty 6 inch outlet and damper. Making things worse, the fan on this unit looks smaller than a desktop tower fan, similar to what is found on 150 cfm hoods costing half as much. No big high capacity blowers here. Additional, if minimal, frustration is the fact that the hood didn't come with a standard plug, so hardwiring or hitting the store to pick up another piece is required, which I'll have to make anyway to return all the 7 inch ducting supplies I won't be needing. Spend money on a better unit or save it and go for a more mainstream unit. I'll update this post if any surprises pop up, delightful or otherwise after using it for awhile.

Much quieter than my previous microwave combo unit. Had to mount it a little differently than the provided hardware allowed as my cabinet shelf above the unit was nearly an inch higher than the bottom of the cabinet walls, so the provided hardware was too short. I did have some trouble with the ducting as well, as the vent collar is all the way in the back of the unit. Also the 6 and 8 inch vent collars touch at the back, making the 6 inch collar difficult to work with. With the collars all the way at the back and my exhaust ducting directly out the wall above the unit, it was a little difficult to align and fully seal a right angle duct. It MIGHT be possible for 1 person to do this install, but the actual mounting is much easier if you have a second person to hold the unit and help with the mounting workaround. I didn't want to mount to the wall as my studs did not line up with the mounting holes.Besides the installation issues, the unit works well, runs quietly enough that there's no need to raise voices around it to be heard (unless next to it at max speed), and I have no other problems. The lights are bright and cover my whole range but don't spill out too much into the rest of the room if you're trying to cut down on light coming from the kitchen (watching TV/movie in the next room)

Easy to install, with ducting straight through the outside wall behind the stove. Wife very impressed with looks, and performance. Nice to have real buttons rather than a touch pad that wears out after a few years. Just bought it so time will tell. Only niggle is the baffles were not a simple fit. Maybe it will get easier with practice.
