Extremely loud!
I can only conclude that the five star reviews must be fakes. This range hood is extremely loud. Cosmo's web site states "Noise level as low as 45 dB on lowest fan speed with rigid ducting (sold separately) under optimal conditions". I have rigid ducting and I measured 70 db on lowest fan speed. I guess only people who can afford to spend 2K on a range hood get to have a quiet one. I do not recommend. Noise, noisy.
Plastic film frustrations
If I had known removing the plastic film was going to be such a pain, I would not have bought this. It's in a lot of the crevices and spots that you're never going to remove them from. It's also not fingerprint resistance so you'll be spending some time trying to remove the fingerprints that accumulated while removing the film. It's also not that powerful.
Does nothing for ventilation
This hood does not function adequately. The fan does almost nothing to suck up steam and smoke, despite how loud the fan sounds. I have had people look at it to make sure it’s not a duct issue and they have confirmed that it is just a poor product. Only get this if you are looking for something that looks nice but is not functional. ALSO a lot of the reviews are copied from other sites… If you go to the product website and other retailer websites they do not post any bad reviews.
Garbage plastic wrap ruins experience
I’ve had my range hood installed for several weeks and very happy with it, with one exception. The protective plastic wrap is attached in such a way that it’s basically impossible to remove. Every nook and cranny has plastic wrapping in it. It doesn’t come off in one piece either, is either rips or stretches and leaves unsightly residue on the stainless surface. Without exaggerating, I can say that I spent more time unsuccessfully trying to remove the plastic and it’s residue than on the installation of the range hood itself.
Good, but frustrating install
Install was easy enough, but as others noted, getting the protective film off is a real pain. One thing that can help with the blue film on the underside is to take out the two screws that hold in each of the light panels. Then you can get the film off of those edges. You can pop the lights out as well. On the install, note that the chimney pieces do not come apart. They must be in place before mounting the hood. Clocks are not synced and are set separately. A bit weak on the suction.

The reason I’m giving this an average review is because you cannot adjust the height in which you have to install it. It’s so low over my cooktop. Secondly, the film they put over it to protect it from being scratched was almost impossible to get off!! It took us hours to remove it all and I still have little bits in the seams I’m still trying to get out!! There has to be a better way!! Otherwise, it looks nice.

We have used this fan for a year now. You MUST balance the fan before installing it. I hooked it up to electricity before installing the fan and as many reviews have stated, it was very noisy and vibrated. I debated on whether I should send it back or not and really did not want to go through that. So instead I took the fan/motor apart. Once inside the design is simply a plastic rotating fan drum WITH A WEIGHT that clips onto a single fan blade. So I simply moved the weight around on the fan blades until it was balanced and quiet on the F2 setting. It really wasn't that hard if you are mechanical at all. You must be since you are installing this right? After the balancing, I installed the fan. Should I have to do this balancing? No. It should have been done at the factory.
