lamp was easy to assemble but I could tell it was a used item due to scratches on the base. The outside box was torn up and taped together and inside the Styrofoam packaging was totally a mess of broken pieces. I am surprised it actually worked.

Good for tying flies

I'm using this for tying flies and like it pretty well so far. Good focal length and size of glass - both were critical for my needs. Light could be brighter and include various color temperatures like some others offer but that's probably more germane to my specific use than for reading. There's an adjustment to lock in the height but the head swings out of the way too easily for my taste; any little bump and it swings out of position so it would be nice if it took just a little more force to swing the head.

Love the light, hate the shipping

Love the light, hate the shipping. This was a Christmas gift for someone. It was shipped with no outer box or protection. The box was crushed on the ends and side and the inner styrofoam was all broken up. Not sure how this lamp did not break.

Light is very bright. Went together easily. Shipping was fast and arrived with no damage. This lamp is the right height when sitting down. Will be very handy. I’m very happy with this purchase. Great quality and brightness.

Overall this is the best magnifying lamp that I have purchased to date and I have purchased several. Daylight and OTT brands. . My eyesight is continually failing and the size and brightness of this lamp enables me to use my laptop or read books/letters without having to move the page around. Its also great for needlework. I wish I had found this 4 magnifying lamps ago. I would have one everywhere I read or sew. The downside is that I am unable to make the pole fit securely into the base. Problems arise when I try to reposition the location of the lamp. I'll probably order another lamp in the near future.

This magnifier lamp is just as advertised. Works well, nice heavy base that won't fall over. Adjusting the neck requires two hands, so needs to be done standing up. Good purchase. Hope it stands up to time.

A must have lamp if you have vision issues

We bought this lamp for my husband's mom, she has macular degeneration. She loves the lamp! The light is nice and bright. The magnifying makes the print larger and clearer for her to see the print. I would recommend this light to anyone who is having issues with their vision. This is a well made lamp!

Very tippy, hard to maneuver

The base weighs a ton; it's hard to move this lamp around. Once you tip the arm towards you, the arm must be in direct correlation to the base, or the lamp will tip over! I finally wedged the base under an easy chair. Nice bright light and great magnifier though. Debating return.

Poor design. Unsafe.

Returned. Poor design, too difficult to adjust. Almost fell over on my mother. Unsafe. Screw holes where the upright rod fits into the base where poorly aligned - couldn't get the rod stable. The magnifying lens and light are too heavy for the base, and the lamp would fall over. The magnifying lens and light were too difficult for my mother to adjust for reading. I ended up buying her a $20 pair if LED lighted reading glasses which work just fine.

14 days ago you did not fulfill my order of a black 3 diopter lamp. I was sent two incorrect lamps in the color white. On the 19th of September, I talked to Yosef Abraham. He found the problem and got a corrected lamp sent to me 3 days later. I truly appreciated his time and attention he gave to the matter. He deserves a gold star. Thank you, thank you, thank you Yosef. I give a 1 star for all the ridiculous problems in getting the correct lamp. But I give 5 stars to Yosef for all he did to insure I got the correct lamp. I also give a 1 star to whoever packs and ships the lamps. All 3 boxes came with very little packing, Busted boxes the lamps were actually in and busted, poorly taped outer shipping boxes. A very desperate need for improvement there. Once again high praises for Yosef.

Excellent

Just received mine a couple of days ago. I paint miniatures for dungeons and dragons and other various games, and this lamp is perfect for seeing all the little detail that you don't want to miss. It also comes with a metal bar on the bottom for added supported so it doesn't tip over. The led's are amazing and I can even see perfectly through it in the day time. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Its real glass. I did see some views on a previous site talking about the glass falling out. The glass can be taken out for cleaning purposes but I cleaned mine without taking it out, also has a top cover to keep dust off of it. Mine did come with a paper saying that if you loosen the screw it will come out and to be careful.

I LOVE this lamp!

Fantastic product! I'm an artist, and have recently been dealing with eye strain. This lamp has an extra large, lighted viewing area that makes it easy for me to view my work, and my subjects in detail. Having the optional floor stand mount, is terrific for when I'm working with far too many things on my table, as always. :) And, I love that the different color temperatures of the lamp, give me different perspectives of my subject, as well! I'm already using my Brightech lamp every day, and hoping to enjoy it for many years to come. Thank you for the wonderful purchase!

Great lamp for knitting, crochet and embroidery

Better than I expected!

Sure, the box arrived torn, partially open and battered. I completed expected a broken lamp or at the very least a scratched lens or missing parts. However, that isn't what I received. Inside the shipping box was the lamp box, tightly snuggled inside that box was neatly formed foam rubber housing the lamp and the parts. It took me all of 3 minutes to assemble and of course I had to test out the lamp immediately. I simply could not be more pleased. The lamp is quite bright but not blinding, the lens helped me to see my knitting much better (I'm still learning so this is a bonus) and the light itself did not get warm on my hands while in use. I would absolutely recommend this lamp to anyone that likes or needs to see their projects up close. GREAT job Brightech! You've won my vote! Thank you!!! Exactly what I was looking for!

Let's put some light on the subject

Purchased for my wife to help with craft projects. After initial period of operation, placement and adjustment, it has worked very well. She can sit and with adequate adjustment can view TV and not project bright light into someone's vision sitting next to her. Magnifying feature took some getting used to. LED lights are very bright and do not detract from natural colors on project materials. The unit is very heavy and base needs to be oriented so that light head stays in desired position. Not hard to do, just a learning curve. Also, when moving lamp, it is best to grasp lower portion of base leg or you may pull out upper portion of lamp. No big deal, you had to insert that part in the base when you assembled it. Overall, Great gift item.
