Don’t work after 2 months

I bought these 8 months ago and have 4 strands connected. A bulb has gone out about once a week since I purchased them. There are a total of 24 bulbs that have gone out since I purchased them. Outrageous. Seriously. Do not waste your money.

Disappointed

Very disappointed in the quality of the bulb connection. I tested the lights before hanging and all of them worked. Proceeded to hang the lights then removed the bulbs one by one to remove the protective plastic wrap they have on the bulbs for shipping. Once I turned the lights back on, 6-8 bulbs did not light up. Attempted tightening, loosening, adjusting bulb tightness to get them to light. Now when I turn on at least 1 bulb will not light.

No replacement bulbs.

I have owned these lights for 2 years, 2 strands installed outside in garden area. They look awesome! I had 2 replacement bulbs with purchase, which was great. Now, I need more bulbs, no damage, just won’t turn on. I don’t like to waste and just throw away a product. Expected a quality product to last longer, used the lights very randomly. Wish Home Depot stocked replacement bulbs for the product they sell.

Great lights but can’t find replacement bulbs

I’ve had these lights for a number of years and they work great. My only complaint is that I have so far not been able to find replacement bulbs. I have used the one that came with the lights but I have 2 more out. If my only choice is to throw the lights out and buy new ones, the environmental benefit of using solar is not really a benefit.

Looked great, but...

When we first installed they were fantastic that is until the first rain...after that the "waterproof" was nothing but a joke...the bulbs filled up with water and only half would light up. Now I have the expense of buying more bulbs and/or a whole new set (x4)

Disappointing- don’t buy

My husband installed them at the top of our pool screen. We waited the 24 hours for the solar to kick in. The middle stand never worked for us. If you pushed the button it would go on for ten seconds then shut off. The first strand is bipolar And the last strand works all the time. The customer service for warranty isn’t helpful. No testing or replacements sent. They asked us to remove the installation and return. It’s so expensive for just ten lights on a strand to not work.

Repurchasing 2 sets as replacements after 3+ years

We are so impressed with the illumination and longevity of these string lights. The old pair that we replaced were left out 365/24/7 in the central east coast of Florida for over 3 years and they still functioned to about their 70% level. So we purchased another two strings as replacements (see photo). We could not be more pleased with their performance.

Some bulbs did not light upon screwing in and required significant tightening to work. Otherwise love these lights.

Bulbs not compatible with sockets

The sockets have almost an inch of rubber “lip” before the socket threads start. The bulbs do not have the capacity to have any lip. I thought maybe wrong bulbs provided but I ordered 2 sets and both have same issue

Good experience with the product except for one of the three light strings purchased only had 14 plugs versus 15 plugs for lights. All work fine, happy with the lighting just a design flaw with one of the strings.

Seems to be well made. Length is perfect for our use. Lighting to great for the ambiance. Will find out if waterproof in the PNW.

Very bad design, terrible to operate and expensive

Not very good product. You don’t have a remote to turn on lights, are not smart. Literally your only option is switch behind the solar panel, which you usually put somewhere high to be able to catch more sunlight. Additionally only has 2 ways of functioning. Either detecting sunset for 6 hours, which is not much, or manually. Manually is a bight are to turn on. Very bad design. Do not recommend. Found far better options at another store

[Rewarded Review] Wonderful set of lights.

I have a similar set and was happy to find these light that are solar. The bulbs themselves are plastic and are very resistant to breakage. The set comes with a charging element that comes with both a base that can be screwed down or onto a vertical surface. Or the typical spike that can be sink into the ground. The charging cell can be maneuvered to best catch the rays to charge up the battery.

[Rewarded Review] Great accent lights

I was excited to get these lights. Packaging came in perfect condition, and very self explanitory on how to install. The solar panel and brackets worked perfectly on my patio. I was able to direct the solar panel in the most optimum direction with the adjustable mounting hardware. This unit came with extra bulbs as well. I started at one end of my patio, put up a small nail and stretched it across the entire back of the patio, and it had plenty of extra cord to put the solar panel out of sight. I let it charge up over night and then pushed the on button and waited for evening. The lights stayed on all night, even after only one full day of charging.

[Rewarded Review] Great market style lights with the benefits of solar!

Who doesn't love the look of outdoor market style string lights? These Hampton Bay 10-Light Outdoor string lights are great looking PLUS they are solar which makes them so much more convenient to use in places where power may not be available. Thanks to the solar feature we were able to use a set at the bottom of our driveway at our gate where we have no power and another inside our greenhouse. The solar panel is mounted on a sturdy base and the panel can be adjusted for best sun exposure. The panel charges easily, in fact, we mounted one inside our greenhouse and it charges effectively even through the polypropylene greenhouse panel. The cord on these lights is sturdy and substantial and should last a good long time even when left out in the weather all year. The bulbs are sturdy, definitely designed to withstand being exposed to outdoor elements. These lights look great, are versatile and can be used in countless ways. Highly recommended!

[Rewarded Review] Great set of solar power outdoor lights.

These are nice fancy Edison-type bulb strong lights that are great for an outdoor space like a patio or a deck. The string has ten lights and is 20 feet long, so 2 feet in between lights. It comes with a 8.5 foot long extension cord to connect the lights to the solar panel which can be handy when the panel has to be mounted elsewhere. A small solar panel powers the lights and has a simple on/off switch which allows the lights to turn on at dusk. The connectors for the light are different than a pervious HB set I have so I cannot connect them. These lights are made in China.

[Rewarded Review] Great set of string lights that are solar powered

I hung up my Hampton Bay string lights. They are 20 foot long in total. Has ten bulbs and an extra replacement bulb. The neat thing with these lights is that they are solar powered. No need to have power cords ran. This is great if you want to use string lights in an area without power. Very easy to hang the lights because they have a hole at each light that you can use a screw or plastic zip ties. Mounting the solar panel was easy too. Comes with a mount to attach anywhere or has a stake to mount into the ground. Light is a medium light. Not super bright but works great for patios.

[Rewarded Review] Very nice string light set and easy to install

The 10-Light 20 ft Outdoor Solar LED Edison Bulb String Light Set from Hampton Bay is very attractive and bright. They give off plenty of light and give a nice ambiance to an outdoor space. The string lights are easy to install by simply placing a nail/screw, or using cable staples. The solar panel, under the right lighting conditions, will give you 6-8 hours of light. The solar panel also comes with two mounting options. It comes with a base plate for mounting to a wall or post, and it comes with a stake if you decide you want to stick it in the dirt or grass. The bulbs are glass and there is an extra one included in the box. I would definitely purchase again.

[Rewarded Review] Great patio accent

What a great way to decorate my outside patio with this Hampton Bay outdoor solar powered 20 foot LED 10 light set. Has an electric eye that will turn on the set at dusk and off at dawn. I pondered on how to install lights to the aluminum patio edge of canopy. I bean to look for the installation fasteners that would do the job for me. As noted on one of my photos I illustrate the brackets, tie wraps and stainless steel screws. The installation kit can be easily found on the internet as.. 75 Pcs Cable Zip Ties Base Saddle Type Mounts with 6 Inch & 0.2 Inch Cable Ties and Stainless steel Screw, Anchor Wire Cable Clips Organizer Holders Clamps fasteners (Black/White). This comes with everything needed except the 1/16" high speed drill bit. These outdoor lights gives a distinguished look to my patio and is more than ample light. I suggest that before installing, have the solar panel full charged and lights tested before installing such. Also make sure the solar panel is getting the required energy based on amount of sunlight.

Not "heavy duty" "weatherproof" as claimed

Look good, but NOT the "heavy duty" "weatherproof" product as claimed. Since installing outside on my patio in April, I have had to replace about 5 bulbs and currently have 3 more that need to be replaced. The glass seems to be breaking for no apparent reason so I'm assuming it's heat. They are not hitting against anything. More than just breaking, the glass is shattering. I am consistently picking shards up from my yard to keep my dogs from cutting their feet. You can imagine how shocked I was to reach my hand in my dogs water bucket to clean it and pulled my hand out bloody because a large shard of glass was in it. There is no phone # for the company on the web. I sent an email, but received no response. Not sure what good a warranty is if you can't get the company to respond. I would not recommend this product as a durable outdoor product.
