Disappointed

Very disappointed in the quality of the bulb connection. I tested the lights before hanging and all of them worked. Proceeded to hang the lights then removed the bulbs one by one to remove the protective plastic wrap they have on the bulbs for shipping. Once I turned the lights back on, 6-8 bulbs did not light up. Attempted tightening, loosening, adjusting bulb tightness to get them to light. Now when I turn on at least 1 bulb will not light.

Looked great, but...

When we first installed they were fantastic that is until the first rain...after that the "waterproof" was nothing but a joke...the bulbs filled up with water and only half would light up. Now I have the expense of buying more bulbs and/or a whole new set (x4)

Some bulbs did not light upon screwing in and required significant tightening to work. Otherwise love these lights.

Bulbs not compatible with sockets

The sockets have almost an inch of rubber “lip” before the socket threads start. The bulbs do not have the capacity to have any lip. I thought maybe wrong bulbs provided but I ordered 2 sets and both have same issue

Good experience with the product except for one of the three light strings purchased only had 14 plugs versus 15 plugs for lights. All work fine, happy with the lighting just a design flaw with one of the strings.

Seems to be well made. Length is perfect for our use. Lighting to great for the ambiance. Will find out if waterproof in the PNW.

Not "heavy duty" "weatherproof" as claimed

Look good, but NOT the "heavy duty" "weatherproof" product as claimed. Since installing outside on my patio in April, I have had to replace about 5 bulbs and currently have 3 more that need to be replaced. The glass seems to be breaking for no apparent reason so I'm assuming it's heat. They are not hitting against anything. More than just breaking, the glass is shattering. I am consistently picking shards up from my yard to keep my dogs from cutting their feet. You can imagine how shocked I was to reach my hand in my dogs water bucket to clean it and pulled my hand out bloody because a large shard of glass was in it. There is no phone # for the company on the web. I sent an email, but received no response. Not sure what good a warranty is if you can't get the company to respond. I would not recommend this product as a durable outdoor product.

The actual lighting was nice, but the connection between two...

The actual lighting was nice, but the connection between two strings of lights was horrible. They would not stay together, the fit was very loose. They came apart during our dinner party despite using electrical tape and duct tape. Unfortunately, we had to return them.

Failed right out of the box

I set these up last night and one of the bulbs failed within an hour or two of first use. While I appreciate there being a couple of spare bulbs in the package, I didn't expect to need them for a year or two...not an hour or two. This has caused me to have zero confidence in this product and I will be returning it as "defective".

This is exactly what I needed for my back yard. Attached with a controllable dimmer switch makes it even better. Total output in watts is 30 and with a dimmer switch brings it down to the right lighting and only 15 or less watts of usage.

The sockets for each lightbulb have a small brass tab inside. It's meant to fold down as you screw in each bulb, blocking direct contact between the threaded base of the bulb and some other thing at the center of the socket. If you screw the bulbs in so that the base of the bulb makes direct contact with that thing, then your whole string will overload and be ruined, and so will the receiver/transformer that communicates with the remote control. This isn't so bad alone, because for most of the sockets the tab is folded slightly in toward the center, so that you don't really need to know about it. When you go to screw your bulb in, it will naturally be depressed without your concern. But some of these brass tabs in the sockets come out of the box pointed straight outward. If you're like me, and you don't know what they are, then you might bend them out of your way, away from the center, permitting the direct contact they are specifically meant to prevent, and blow your whole string and receiver.

Defective product, bulbs crack easily, and poor customer service

Ordered 2 boxes of this 48 foot outdoor string lights. Product arrived quickly, in 3 days, however one set of lights did not work straight out of the box. The second set of lights works but the quality of the light bulbs is really disappointing. Two of the bulbs cracked during installation, under light handling. This set was installed at temperatures in the 70’s degrees. The information on the box states the bulbs are “high quality glass construction”, but these bulbs are definitely plastic and very thin. Contacted Newhouse Lighting customer service twice, but received no response. Would not recommend product.

the perfect outdoor deck lighting

I bought two sets of these last fall and recently installed them about a month ago. They are great and actually give off a good amount of light. So much so, that I now just purchased a Palawell Outdoor dimmer for them and now with dimming capability they are absolutely perfect. Can't recommend these enough.

I have 30 by 26 patio steel . Ran 1/8 wire cable to each side with a turnbuckle on each end to make sure they are taunt. Because of the long distance I also but five drop wires to the cable because of the weight of the string . On the short ends only put three support drop wires. Wanted the straight and not sagging in the middle on all sides.I used Cable ties in the eyes and two cable ties between each Eye to make a neat installation .A lot of extra time and effort but I plan on the to be a five years installation. Wish I knew how to send you a picture of finished project but my computer skills are not up that level. I have mine on twenty five% which is perfect for what I wanted for out there.

Very nice quality. We installed 3 strands, on stainless steel cable, and connected all to one dimmer. They work perfectly. I was concerned about the bulb spacing but it turned out to be fine. More than enough light on 100% and dimmer turns them down to a nice glow. Would recommend - worth it.

I have the 48' that comes with the remote and the other 48' that comes without the remote. I have them plugged to each other and, they are connected to a good outdoor extension cord, and it works perfect. The dimming feature is awesome. I was afraid that the bulbs were spaced too far apart, but it does not look goofy, the light "fills in" beautifully.
