Worthless Template!

The glass is probably fine. But the template to properly hang the board is worthless! It only has a line at the top, no markings for the anchors and spacers!!!!! almost impossible to hang accurately!

This is magnetic?

The magnetic surface attached to the back of the white board barely attracts whiteboard magnets at all. I have purchased several different magnets and they all perform identically, they slide down the face of the whiteboard. Sticking the magnet directly to the back of the board is only slightly better. This is not a very good magnetic whiteboard at all.

I've had this for YEARS and am buying another

I needed a small white board for my landscape design business to keep track of active clients, and in what stage of the process they're in, from initial email to final project. I bought this probably ten years ago and absolutely love it. I'm now looking to expand my white board space, and will be buying another. I was relieved to find out that the same size and design is available as what I already have, so I'll put the side-by-side. These are so much classier than the traditional white board, and the fact that the surface is magnetic is a plus as well, although I rarely use that feature.

Dud.

Delivery was timely. Installation a breeze (with help). Product is well-made. However, we have spent as much money on rare earth magnets as we have the whiteboard. We held out hope that the “next”, bigger and better magnets would do the trick. However, few of the magnets have the strength to even hold up a sheet of printer paper. Our purpose for this whiteboard was its magnetic feature. It is a TOTAL flop. Now we are stuck with a virtually non-magnetic whiteboard that we don’t need.

Could be way better.

First off, the packaging it arrived in was horrendous. It looked like someone opened it up and closed it with a bunch of tapes. I feel like the shipping people may have dropped it and needed to check if it was damaged. It got delayed by a day even though it said it was out for delivery. 1/5 for shipping, poorly packed but it came within 3 days.

Like many of us, I'm now working from home a lot and am slowly adding things to my home workspace. I really like the cleanness of glass and the fact that it won't develop that "dirty" look that most whiteboards acquire after use (or mistakes in what markers are applied). The glass is great and markers wipe right off. The frosted glass fits in very well with my overall office decor as well. I purchased the glass in a 6'x4' size, it has a total of six mounting points. Unlike other reviewers, we didn't have any problems with the wall-anchors. Instead of using a template, we leaned the glass against the wall and used the holes to align where the wall anchors went. Once the top ones were fully installed, we hung the glass on the mounts and used the same process to install the lower mounts. It is definitely a two-person job!

So there are two parts to this review. The install and the final product after install. As others have mentioned install is a bit of a challenge. Thankfully I only have a 2' x 3' which weighs 20lbs. Anything larger really does require 2 people. Before anything else I would highly recommend NOT using the included mounting hardware. I went out and purchased a small kit that can handle 35lbs. (Anything larger runs into issues where the screw head will not fit into whole for the back mounting bracket for the dry erase board. 35lbs x 4 means this thing (20lbs) is not going anywhere on the wall. But if you take a look at the picture attached you can see the provided anchors? The gripping section only extends about 1/2 inch. Most drywall is 1/2 of an inch thick. The result means that the provided hardware not only weakens the surrounding drywall as it is expanding out in the form of a cone, it also isn't gripping it from the rear. Its a bad design. It may work for these smaller boards, but frankly if you have a board that is more than 20lbs you should NOT use these, ever. Next. Alignment of the holes. The board comes with a sheet to help you align things. I simply put the sheet on the ground, and laid the board on top. I was careful to trace the edges of the board and then with a fine pen trace the holes. (Critical you use a fine pen as accuracy is critical.) Once done I put a dot at the center of the circle on the paper. I then taped the sheet to the wall making 100% certain it was flat. Here is the catch. The holes in the dry erase board have a bit of room to "wiggle" but not a whole heck of a lot. I would say 2mm max. This means that when it comes time to drill. Start with a small pilot hole and be exceedingly exact. Then drill the hole for the anchors again making sure things are straight when drilling. Remove the template from the wall and install the anchors. Now install the back mounting piece along with the screw for the anchor. Once all this is done move on to mounting the dry erase board. First have all your screws within easy reach. You need 2 readily available. Remove one of the plastic o rings from the screw. (There are 2. One for the front, one for behind the board. There is a trick to this as well if you are one person. hold the board by one corner at the bottom, On the top opposing edge place the screw in and add the o ring on the back side. Lift the board so it aligns with the hole and screw it in. Only screw it in enough that the screw won't fall out. Now being VERY careful not to flex the board (Glass does not like to bend. :) Slowly swing it up, and install the other top screw. Again screw it in just enough that it stays in place. Do not tighten it. I suspect for larger boards this technique would work if you simply have one side of the board on the floor and lift it to the mounting bracket to align it with the hole. Then simply lift the other side. (Or have a chair to have one side sit on as you align the other side. Now work on the bottom. You WILL need to lift the board up a bit to align the hole in the board with the hole in the back mounting hardware. (Again be sure to remove one of the o rings and place it on the back side of the board. It does take some work. This is where your initial accuracy for alignment pays off. Again there is A LITTLE room to move the board up and down but not a whole heck of a lot. I was really concerned for a bit that I didn't get it aligned right but it worked out. Once you have the other 2 screws in place lift the board and tighten everything and you are good to go. The product itself is good. Fingerprints show up easily. This board is large enough that to be accurate you need to lay your arm on it. Eh. No big deal. Its still a quality product. I would recommend but if you can for larger board or anything above 20lbs having a second person is highly recommended. Even if lifting, say 30 - 40 lbs isn't a problem for you the bulk of the thing I would suspect makes it a pain to install.

Description is off - Board is NOT magnetic nor whi

As others have noted, this is NOT magnetic. I wish I had known before purchasing several months ago. Additionally, it is NOT white, but a see through pale greenish color...also noted by another buyer. Walmart's description is totally off. I purchased another board in 2019 from the ":)" competitor's website, and even though it was a different brand, it is much better quality than this Quartet version. That board is in my home office and it is white, and it is also magnetic! Same size and cost about the same price. I rarely write a review, and when I do 90% it is a positive review. This time I'd like to warn others.

Overall, this is a nice glass whiteboard. Not as opaque as I was expecting with the frosting, but looks great on the wall. With the frosting, it blends better on the wall in the home office than if it was white or black. Installation was easy and writing / erasing is easy on the glass. I expect it to last a long time. Only thing I wish was that it had wall mounts on more than just the corners. With the mounts keeping it away from the wall, it bends and bounces when I am writing in the center of the board. With the long side being 4 feet, there is just a bit too much distance between the mounts.

Perfect for my use case

This whiteboard is perfect for my use case, but your mileage may vary. The whiteboard is completely flat (unlike many melamine-based whiteboards), and the surface is literally glass, so it can be cleared/cleaned with a minimum of effort. The contrast between the white background and the marker ink is a bit lower than for a standard whiteboard, and there is a bit of noticeable shadowing due to the white background being behind the glass. At first I worried that the lower contrast and shadowing would make it hard to see detail, but it has proven to just be different than normal, rather than better or worse. Some reviews mentioned flex and recommended adding styrofoam support behind the board, but I have not noticed significant flex while writing or erasing, so I'm not going to bother with extra support. Regarding the magnetic backing, it is indeed barely enough to enable use with rare earth magnets, but even strong magnets are marginal. If you want a magnetic whiteboard, don't bother with this one.

Stylish whiteboard for the meeting room

We've had our share flimsy whiteboards where it was almost guaranteed that someone would accidentally use a permanent marker, thereby making it useless. We finally decided on the most robust solution which led us to purchasing the Quartet Infinity.

First let me tell you these are GORGEOUS. That being said...I am not one to write about products at length but this one needs some explaining in regards to installation. I pray this helps you. When I opened the box...everything looks so simple. I am a 52 male with every tool under the sun. Of course the instructions never tell you what you REALLY need to install...so here I go. You will need a drill with the PROPER size bits. You will need a Level. You will need Vaseline or Coconut oil... And a good second person that loves you even when you get mad. Instructions tell you to hold the unit on the wall and mark the holes with a pen ....After installing 2 of these I learned the trick. First off....Make sure you take off the corner spacers before putting on wall to mark. The first one...I left the spacers on...and they held the unit away from the wall a little making the holes OFF. Take the spacers off. While you are holding the unit on the wall...have a second person level the unit while your holding it and "Eye Ball" if it looks good. You only get one shot at this. If all looks good...while your holding it tight to the wall....have your second person use a thin SHARPE and make a circle in all 4 holes. NOT JUST A DOT. Make a circle. I found out on the first one that just a dot does not work. Then take the unit down and open up the hardware. Everything looks simple enough...THAT SHOULD BE A WARNING. So the next step is to install the hangers through the sheet rock. #1 URGENT....We are ONLY GOING TO INSTALL THE TOP 2. Do not Do the bottoms yet. #2 DO NOT JUST SHOOT THE ANCHORS IN.....Make sure you PRE DRILL the hole. #3 URGENT....ONLY INSTALL THE TOP 2. This is Critical. I tried on the first anchor just to shoot the anchor in like shown, but even with the correct phillips bit it just stripped. You must predrill each hole. So after you have predrilled each hole...Gently with your drill install the top 2 anchors. After those top 2 Anchors are in...then go get the top 2 cylinder pieces. Screw them in with the correct size drill bit nice and snug. Do not over tighten. After you have the top 2 complete...Grab your jar of vaseline...and on the first two bolts put just a dab on the end. On the first unit...I didn't do this and the bolts bound up...and I almost stripped one of them. The dab of Vaseline...or any similar lubricant made these bolts screw in with ease. Now...Do the top right one first. Hold the unit up to the hole and get the first bolt in. Screw it in 3/4 of the way. You must leave play in this until all bolts are in. Now screw in the top left bolt. The unit should now be secure hanging on the wall with just the top 2 complete...but not tightened all the way. Now we address the bottom. If you are like me...and look at the bottom holes you will now understand why we did not put the anchors in. Everything is a little "Off". So now...analyze where the NEW Center of each hole is and use your drill bit to Predrill where the next Anchor goes. Do this for both of the bottom holes. Then...put the anchors in...and then put the mounting cylinders in. What is nice...is with the two not tight on the top...you can pull the unit out just enough to get what you need behind the unit. And I used my drill with the proper length bits to tighten everything right through the glass holes. After that...get your vaselined bolts and put the bottom 2 in. There should be enough play for you to move the unit around 1/4" even if it is all not perfectly aligned. After all 4 bolts are in...then tighten them all up. DONE. I hope this helps. I typed this because of all the issues I ran into after mounting the first one. If you screw up...and try backing out a screw...of course the entire Anchor comes out as seen in the photo. On my first one...the 4th hole was so off....I ended up NOT mounting everything to the wall. The 4th Cylinder is just floating...mounted to nothing. Again. They are done....and look great. I hope this helps somebody. First Photo is of the Garbage Anchors that if you don't predrill the hole they will strip and are useless after that. Photo #2 First one done...and starting to mount second. Photo #3 Dab of vaseline on the end of each bolt made life great. Photo #4 Second Unit hanging before mounting second Top Bolt. Photo #4 First unit...With 4th Mount so far off...I had to just float the mount and not secure it. Photo #5 If you have to try and back one of these out...this is what you get. Photo #6 All done....Look great.

Not a functional tool

This board does not provide an alternative to white boards. In fact they are less functional as an educational tool than a chalk board. They can only be used effectively when the people viewing them are standing and are within five feet of the board. Glass boards are hated by the students because they cannot see what is written on them due to the glare. They are hated by the teachers because they smudge and smear worse than any alternative and also distort the color. Sure they look pretty and modern, but they are not a teaching tool. AVOID this step back in technology and education at all costs. Stick with White dry erase boards that are NOT glass.

Great Product & Mounting Tip

Excellent buying experience. Shipping as promised with accurate tracking status. Outstanding customer service in response to a couple of calls about mounting hole distance, cleaning agent and accessories. Windex works fine. Hardware supplied is quite adequate. This board requires special markers unlike the one supplied and "rare earth" magnets as recommended in other reviews. Mounting tip: Easily mounted by my genius buddy and me. The key is to temporarily mount an eight foot 2x4 to the studs level to where you want the lowest edge of the whiteboard. I used 38" from the floor. Rest the whiteboard on the 2x4, mark the center of the mounting holes and set the board on the floor. Install the wall mounts loosely, replace the board. Tighten the wall mounts and finish with screw caps.

Awesome

This board is heavy and does require two people to install the board on the wall. The instructions included in the box are clear and all the hardware needed to hang the board come with the board. You will need to have some tools to install the wall anchors before hanging up the board. The board comes with a dry erase marker, 2 small round magnets, and a magnetic marker/eraser tray. If you want to use everyday magnets on this board, they will not work due to thickness of the board. The marker erases easily off the board and does not leave a residue on the glass. I would recommend this glass board over a regular dry erase board. They are smoother to write on and the marker is easier to erase. I really like this board and would recommend it to anyone looking for a wipe board.

I purchased the 4' x 3' glass whiteboard a little over a month ago. So far, I have not seen any ghosting like I would see on normal whiteboards. I use standard (not the neon) Expo Dry Erase Markers and Erasers. The markers show up a little duller than a normal whiteboard, but they are perfectly legible. The Expo Erasers whips the majority of the ink off in one pass. You have to go over the area multiple times if you want it to completely go away. Helpful installation tip, the prospect of holding the whiteboard up and marking out where I needed to put the screw holes seemed to be a giant pain. Trying to use a tape measure to mark all four holes out also seemed like a pain. So what I did was first cut off one side of the cardboard box that the whiteboard came in. I held it up against the whiteboard and marked off the mounting holes. I then used the held the cardboard template against the wall to mark where I needed to drive. Using the template was much easier than holding up a heavy whiteboard. The only downfall was that the marker tray seems to not sit flush against the bottom of the board. I believe it is slightly bent. It is held in place by a tight fit as well as a magnetic strip.

Great White Board

This is a really nice glass white board. It erases cleanly and it looks great on the wall. We really like the pen tray at the bottom of the board - it is much more convenient and looks nicer than the pen holders that stick on the wall next to the board. Having the magnetic feature is also nice, however, be aware that the metal panel at the back of the board adds considerable weight to the board. An advantage to the metal backing is that it makes the white board completely opaque. This is nice because we like to place strips of foam between the back center of the board and the wall to reduce the amount of "bounce" and play when writing on it.

Nice Board

This board looks very nice and arrived well-packaged and in good condition. Two slight faults for us: 1. The frosted looks great, but with the size of the board and the distance the board is mounted from the wall, there is a bit of play (flexing) of the board as it is written on in the center. Because the board is frosted and not opaque, any item placed between the board and the wall to brace the center of the board is visible through the board and is not attractive. Our next purchase will be an opaque board for this size or larger. Secondly, be aware that you most certainly will need two people to properly and easily install this size board, if you want it level. We had one person hold the board in place and level it, while the other person checked level and marked the holes for the screws. I'm with the other reviewer who suggested that a paper template would have been extremely helpful! Overall a good board, works best with good and dark markers.

Sleek and Modern White Board with few flaws

This product has such a sleek and modern design which enhances any office space. The packaging on this product was great though it did not stop from the marker holder from being dinged. The glass board itself is rather heavy and requires help to install. The marker holder was a little difficult to attach to the board (the ding was not the cause of this because it was located on the front of the holder). The marker provided writes smoothly on the board and offers ease in erasing. Many white boards on the market leave residue from the marker and with this board this is not the case. You can easily remove the marker with the swipe of your finger or an eraser. I will say that it is somewhat unfortunate that standard magnets cannot be used with this board, but if you are using it just to write on then it is great!

Elegant option for a dry-erase board

This dry erase board is a great solution for an office or classroom where style is a premium concern. It doesn't look "classroomy" and blends right into the wall when not in use. Writing is easily visible when used against a light colored wall. This is a small size which is a good fit in my living room/home classroom, but it doesn't allow tons of space for notes. It does erase quickly and easily with no ghosting, and is superior to a standard dry-erase board in this regard.
