Sturdy, but easy to assemble. Parts were tightly packaged to prevent damage during shipping. Color is uniform throughout. First time buying from Sauder and more than happy with it.
Very good looking, sturdy, seems durable, easy to assemble.
We purchased this product as shelving in our laundry room. This is sturdy enough to hold detergents and cleaning supplies for our family of seven. Assembly was a breeze. Kudos to the folks involved with creating and introducing the "nail holder". I'll be keeping it for use on future projects. Well done! We are perfectly satisfied. That being said, we know you are always searching for ways to improve and speed up assembly, so we have two suggestions that might be actionable. The 'G' sticker was on the finished face of the BACK. Because of this I spent about two minutes taking it off (if I did it really slowly the adhesive peeled off with the sticker). If the sticker had been on the UNFINISHED face of the BACK, I would have been done with the assembly another two minutes quicker with no risk of tearing the finish face or leaving adhesive on that beautiful surface. Also, at first we had shelf E wrong-side-up. I had looked for pre-drilled holes but didn't see any, and then (incorrectly) figured that I had it right-side-up. I realize after some thought that pre-drilled holes would be a mistake, but how about two small orange filled circles that LOOKED like pre-drilled holes. Then you ask the customer to look into the holes in the BACK to be sure they see orange.

Do not be fooled by appearance; low weight limits
I ordered this bookshelf to store my old text books which weigh on average 3.2 pounds per 1 inch of width. The width of this bookshelf is 28 inches so a full shelf will be around 90 pounds depending on the books. The weight limits in the assembly manual stated are only 25 pounds for the adjustable shelves which is not even close to half of a shelf full of text books! It turns out the shelves and sides are hollow. They look strong but are actually quite weak. Do not be fooled by appearance.
I never assembled this item as it was made of particle board.
I was looking for a bookcase that could fit in a specific inset space and this fit perfectly.
Solid, easy to assemble, great value
I am not a tool person. Most of the time I watch a YouTube video before I use a hammer. But the instructions were clear (and amusing) and the parts all fit just right. I bought two of these bookshelves and finished the assembly in under 3 hours. Unfortunately I am out of wallspace for bookshelves -- but not out of books -- or I would buy more of these. Highly recommend the product.

It was easy to put together. The price was acceptable for this purchase. It appears to be somewhat sturdy, but just wished I had chosen and paid a little more for additional wood. It's ok for my basement. Not ok for the main living area.

Easier assembly process
I have owned many Sauder products and generally find them to be quality products. I purchased these bookcases as they are one of the few pieces available in the Sindoori Mango finish, which is the closest finish to the old Scribed Oak finish they used to offer that I can find. Representatives told me that Craftsman Oak is the closest finish to Scribed Oak, but I found that to be considerably darker = the Sindoori Mango is much closer in appearance. Anyway, this bookcase is MUCH easier to assemble compared to other Sauder pieces I've assembled. The pieces are a bit lighter in weight, and the finished product looks really good. The reason for four stars is the finish seems MUCH more ""flimsy"" and I do have concerns about how long it will look good for. I wish they would put markings on the back board which would make it a whole lot easier to nail into place. Instead they provide this weird nail holder thing that I found difficult to use. Instructions were very clear and super easy to follow. I am a solidly middle-aged woman and I had no issues at all putting it together. Again, I am a bit concerned about the glued/stick-on finish and am worried about future peeling, but I guess time will tell. Overall, I do recommend this due to the affordability, exceptional customer service Sauder provides, and color choices.
