This was nearly perfect for my basement stairwell. Mounting this light was straightforward, and there was plenty of space for the wires in the housing. Adjusting the lights was easy as well. The lights are great, look amazing, we love them. The reason for 4 stars is because the wire/cord that the lights hang on are slightly askew/bent right where they meet the light, so instead of a perfectly straight wire running from the housing to the light, there is a little ripple where the light is mounted, and it is slightly noticeable.
