These are perfect for driving fence pickets onto some pine and cedar frames. The coating does provide some resistance to corrosion and rust for a long time. I know that because I previously used exactly this and it's been 9 years and as I take the old screws out, they are only slightly oxidized on some screws, most screws stayed in tact, coating, and all. These are great screws to work with, very accurate to drive with a square tip using an impact wrench. The screw enters the wood very straight and stable, the coating provides a smooth insertion during the turn, and only when it gets to last 1/4" or so, if your wood is fresh you may hear a slight squeak. Very robust, long lasting screws. Highly recommended.

These screws were not 1", they were only about 15/16"...
These screws were not 1", they were only about 15/16" and the shank was much thinner than regular #8 screws. Was trying to use to replace existing screws of a different color and they did not hold since they were under the specified size. Consequently, I was not able to use and had to return them.

They worked out very good for my project but many of the screws were number 2 Phillips head screws. I would say about 30 percent were Phillips, not square drive screws.
