Great deal!
Got these for my bedroom. They do block out light at night. During the day they allow a bit of filtered light with privacy as this is a city house with neighbors in waving range;) They are nicely made, almost to the floor in a room with very high ceilings and were on sale. I recommend them.
These are very nice curtains. I really liked the pattern. They worked well in my space. Though they are not total blackout curtains, the do darken the room a lot.
These sun Zero curtains were very nice. A bit narrower in size than expected but blocked out a majority of the light. Also the background was a bit darker than expected too. Nice quality and price!
Blackout curtains by Sun Zero
The curtains look great in my bay window - I steamed the wrinkles and they are perfect for keeping the sun out. I have a shorter one for the dining room and the long length for living room. The style and color are just what I wanted. I do recommend them.
Stylish blackout curtains with flaws
Stylish panels with good quality and lightweight design. Blocks about 45% of sunlight, making room comfortable sleeping and napping. Allows some light visibility. Light blocking not perfect.
blocks NO LIGHT. might as well use gauze.
useless as blackout curtains. lovely fabric and design, affordable, easy to machine wash. if you just want nice curtains, these are nice. but blackout curtains they are not. the photo is from a cloudy day!
Get these people a tape measure.
First of all, let me state that these are a nice weight light blocking drape. The color is not as rich as what I had hoped for but they are nice. The real issue with these drapes is that someone (perhaps a machine needs to be recalibrated) cannot measure lengths. I did not measure the widths of each of them because that doesn't matter as much in my case. Every single one that I opened was a different length. I had to place a second order in order (and order extras as well) to get enough panels that were close enough that it didn't matter. Had I not wanted to have a window covering by Christmas I would have sent them all back. Other than that the quality seems nice. I have not washed them so I'm hoping for the best there. I have never bought drapes or curtains before where they weren't the same length. Not even close to the same length, but inches difference. Even the best ones out of the group are not quite the same, But when you have them opened up no one will except for me.Quality control makes a huge difference. My warning is to measure these before you hang them thus saving you a huge amount of time.
someone can't measure
We hung our new drapes today. One panel is at least two inches shorter then the others and the other ones have lop sided hems. I'm ordering more panels in an attempt to try to get enough that actually are made correctly. Order with this in mind. Also, the color isn't as vibrant as pictured.
Not perfect but Close!
The curtains are really very nice, they drape beautifully, and are thicker material than the average drape, and they are not heavy weight -wise. I have shopped for a "nicer" looking blackout curtain to help with our south facing bedroom windows. This set says it wont " black out" the light but will filter it. They are right, they don't black out BUT the room is very dark! I have light filtering bamboo shades. These curtains do significiantly darken the room. Granted, I purposely bought navy blue (I wanted white) to insure I got a darker room. I'm very pleased with this product!
Not really great
This is not 40” wide nor is it 63” inches long. If that doesn’t matter to you, then here is the rest of the issue. The fabric seems like will snag easily. It feels cheap. It looks nice though. The navy is a true navy. The print on it is much more of a tan or off white than a white. It is not a blackout curtain at all but it would filter out a lot of light. Proceed with caution. The pic I am using is for a longer one that was measured a lot smaller than it was supposed to be, too.
Bought these for our East facing kitchen window. Morning sun added so much heat and our extra window AC struggled to keep our room cool. These curtains completely block the morning sun and I truly believe they have dropped temperatures, too. When I put my hand behind the curtains (door side) it’s very hot. My hand on the room side feels no additional heat, at all! Great curtains for a very sunny window!
Nice but NOT blackout
Like other reviewers, I bought these because I wanted blackout curtains in navy at a reasonable price. These satisfy the latter two requirements, but they definitely do NOT block the light. As they were inexpensive, I will add a blackout liner with the same size grommets, and all will be well. I do like the navy and beige colors and the geometric pattern, so I’m keeping them. However, I hope Target revises its description to show that they do block out the light.
Happy with purchase
Bought the taupe, which is a nice neutral color. The curtains seem well made and the thermal side is not rubbery like the curtains I was replacing. The design is attractive, too. I bought these to help with the heat in a fairly small west facing room. I didn't care if the light was blocked, but I guess that comes with the territory. I did have a problem with one curtain but Macy's quickly replaced it.
Light filtering quality
I liked the color, texture, design and economic cost of these curtain panels. The overall effect of the curtains on your window will depend on the amount of light coming through them. When I hung them on an east facing window the color and design of the fabric immediately was washed out or faded looking when the panels were closed. I needed something on the window to help block strong sunlight coming onto furniture by the window so needed them partially closed through out most of the day. I returned the panels because they did not work on my window.
I'll start by saying I have never bought patterned curtains before. My new living room re-design is minimalistic steampunk, and this curtain pattern just sets off my front windows and fits right in with the rest of the décor. The circular print mimics the gearwork in some of my other pieces, looks fantastic against my light cream-colored walls and brings in a pop of style I didn't know I had. LOVE them, and seeing how well this pattern works now has me looking for bold prints to set off my other rooms.
I ordered the blue and white. the background is actually light grey not white. the lining is also light grey. i put them up anyway to see if possibly they would be okay but they are too grey and dull looking. they did block the light and heat considerably though. but they are not blackout curtains; some light comes through. i do not like them at all. if the background was white as described i think they would have looked great. the description states 30 day return and i am trying to do so now but am having a bit of trouble with that. i am sure customer service will resolve it for me.
Blue color, no blackout but still perfect for us
Great curtains for the price. They are not very wide, which was perfect for our windows. Also, the fabric is not black-out as marked by others but I also preferred that, so again, works for us. The color seems more of a blueish gray than true gray and is not as dark as pictured. For the pictures, I draped the fabric over our jeans-blue leather sofa to show much blue is in the color. So if your set up is black and gray then these may not work as well. We have white/blue/gray and they are perfect. As noted by others, the curtains come out of the package pretty much ready to go and need little to no ironing. The fabric has a little shine and seems easy to maintain. Back of the fabric is plain white - not super attractive from the outside, if you plan on closing these, but I use them only as a side panel, so no problem here. The grommets are really big, so make sure to get a 1 inch curtain rod, or it looks a little mismatched. Overall very happy with what I got, even though it may not match what is pictured. So still 5 stars from us.
I absolutely love the thickness, blackout ability, and quality of these curtains. We recently had new windows put in our home and I did not want to drill into new frames to put our blinds back up but needed a product to keep light out of our bedroom. These curtains have more than surpassed my expectations! My husband and I are able to sleep so much better since we put these curtains in our bedroom. The colors are beautiful and also add a needed touch of color to our very neutral walls! I highly recommend these!
I bought two of these panels for the French doors off my dining room/kitchen area. The colors and print are just beautiful, and match the little pops of blue and red I have going in those rooms. The big surprise was the softness of the fabric, and how it drapes! Fold marks came out immediately upon hanging, but I just kept wanting to touch the curtains. If it's possible, they feel even better than they look, and yes, they absolutely block sunlight, help keep the rooms cool, and even help with blocking outside noise. They are substantial without being heavy or stiff in any way. Absolutely love these, and trying to figure out if there's a way to fit another set into a bedroom or some other room in my house. The pattern/print are so cheerful! Everything about them makes me feel good.
Cute but NOT BLACKOUT
These curtains are super cute, however, when I see the words "zero sun", I expect blackout. I have been frustrated buying several different curtains that claim to be blackout and are not even close. I got the light gray color and they let tons of sun in. I might keep these for my office/guest bedroom (sorry guests, you will be awaken by the sun in the AM), but definitely not for my bedroom. The material is pretty thin, but they seem like they will last and I like the grommet holes and pattern. Frankly, I'm tired of buying curtains and returning them because they let light in, and these ones were a great deal so I guess I'll keep them. If you need blackout, maybe try a darker color or go with a real blackout curtain. If you do not need blackout, I would recommend these.
