Cool look, Very Badly Executed

This table is such a disappointment. It is the exact right size for my space, and I love the eclectic design-it actually fits perfectly into my aesthetic. Sadly, it is incredibly badly engineered. The end pieces are so badly warped, it is impossible to join the bottom surface. And clearly the wood was not properly cured, as the joints were warping, off-square, and pulling apart. The cheap hardware didn't help-the allen wrench included is the wrong shape to efficiently put this together. Thank goodness I had a ratchet screw driver with the proper head, and an S-shaped allen wrench for the tight spots. But all of that made no difference: you can't put together a piece of furniture with parts so badly warped. And I very much resent all the wasted effort. Also, the directions are abysmal. You'll figure it out eventually, but I had to reverse the center brace, and then reverse it again + reverse the sides, as the illustrations never show which side should have the drawer rail... and the photos on the web site don't make clear how the drawer side is backed: clue: there is a faux drawer-front exactly like the drawer front that closes the drawer opening on the back side. I should also note that it was delivered super-fast, so thanks for that. But I am not just annoyed that this is so badly executed, and wasted all the time I spent searching for it-not to mention the full day of assembling, disassembling, re-assembling, trying everything I could think of to pull out the warps, then having to contact Overstock, disassemble and re-pack-but I really, really loved the look and size of this table, and I really wanted it to work. Die Lieferung war verzögert, das Paket schien verloren und es hat 3 Wochen gedauert. War gut verpackt. Der Tisch ist wie beschrieben, stabil und ordentlich verarbeitet. Die Farbe erscheint ziemlich grau, passt zu allem. Nur dass es eher eine Kommode oder Lowboard ist. Die Rückseite (3. Foto) , leider nicht abgebildet, ist zum Stellen an die Wand gedacht. Farblich ist es angeglichen, aber man sieht es doch. Ich denke, wenn ich es gewusst hätte, hätte ich es nicht als Couchtisch genommen. Die Seite mit der Schublade zeigt bei uns nach vorne und sieht gut aus. Alles in allem ein gutes Möbelstück für wenig Geld. Mittlerweile habe ich zuerst die Tischplatte mit der Hand abgeschliffen und mit Holzwunder behandelt, und dann den Rest. Jetzt gefällt es mir richtig gut! Ich verstehe nicht, wie man solch schönes Holz durch graue Lackierung "verschandeln" kann ... Less
