The description on this product is deceptive it doesn't give all relevant dimensions and easily could. The opening is 24 inches and not the overall panel which was closer to 28 inches while in most construction ceiling joists are 24 on center yet it seems no one makes a panel like this that the opening portion is 22.5 inches so that it will fit between the ceiling joists. The depth of the doorway and inset portion at an inch thick making it impossible to simply apply to a hole with the drywall removed. This isn't rocket-science, but it seems to be beyond the capabilities of people who make these. I can't believe contractors put up with this. I made my own panel with plywood and molding just like my grandfather would have 120 yrs ago. And delivery was 2 days late to add insult to injury

The framing is not reinforced, but is very sturdy. The product is well engineered and well built. I would purchase this again.

It is easy to install, as there are holes for mounting it on all sides of the frame (in case you don't have blocking on two sides). The steel is heavy guage. The dimensions on inside/outside matched exactly what was shown on the website. Overall this is a great price for a well designed product.

Multimedia Access Door

The access door is very rugged and well-made. With the concealed hinge my plan is to use it in a stairway wall to avoid any notice. The access door will provide rear access to all multimedia connections from the adjacent room because they will be hidden within the wall. Cable connections will be tucked away nicely, removing an unsightly nest of wires.

Bent corners

The door frame was bent on three of the exposed (when installed) corners. I will try to flatten them before installing.

Wrong measurements.

This is not a 10 1/4 access door. The outer dimensions of the frame is 10.25". That,s not how it works. I threw it in the garbage.

I had built at my home, 25 years ago, 4 small entry columns, each with LV lighting and irrigation lines for potted plants on top. Over the years the 'fall off' water created rust in original 8x8 doors. So they were easy to remove, and your 8x8 doors fit right in. Thank you.

All damaged in delivery

I’ve ordered 3 of these, had first 2 sent to my house, damaged. Had 3rd one sent to HD to pick up in person, damaged as well. Now they’re out of stock. Huge inconvenience.
