Airdog needs enhanced sleep mode

I love the fresh air from my Airdog. Easy to control using the phone app. I would like to have front lights off mode usable while in the manual or auto state. This is independent of sleep state because when I sleep I want more air movement AND more white noise from the running fan.

Excellent device that comes with AMAZING service

I purchased three machines to help with my allergies; we put an X3 in our bedroom, an X5 on the main floor of our home, and an X3 in the basement. Each machine runs quietly, efficiently, and is pretty easy to clean. The X5 is near our kitchen, and I'm always impressed with how it ramps up to purify the air when we cook, and how it helps keep the air clean during allergy season and when we had perpetual dust in our house from backyard construction. These machines are relatively easy to clean, and when I've had any issues with the machine or just needed some help troubleshooting an issue, if someone doesn't answer immediately in the office, then they will absolutely call you back. On my last call, the service tech Harry patiently stayed on the phone with me for close to 45 minutes while I tried various different options to troubleshoot my issue. We think we figured out what was going on (I needed to clean the air sensor), but he said even if the machine starts acting off, to please call him over the weekend. I couldn't be more pleased with the way the machine is keeping the dust down in the house and the customer service this company provides!

As we all know, the threat of covid is constant no matter whether you received vaccination or not. The holidays, are the most precious times to be together with your family. Many families today are blended families. I wanted my family to be able to get together at least 20 of us and not have to be super worried about spreading covid. I took this unit into the house turned it on and it started at 197, and after an hour it walked itself all the way down to the eighties. There's a fireplace in this house as well. Some smokers too. I let this run on level 3 the entire time and so far it's been 6 days,

I live in NYC & use my home as a studio for making fashion items so there's a lot of silk & wool fabrics on hangers along with a ton of clutter because I'vem your stereotypical designer that has a lot of unnecessary pretty objects & all of it accumulates massive amounts of dust! I pre-wash all my fabrics & they aren't on rolls so it isn't a typical industrial work studio, but there's a lot of fabric everywhere.

Airdog X5 FD Air Purifier

Set up was very easy -- just remove some packing tape, slide in the FD filter, plug in, and presto! The default setting is "automatic" which suits me.

Airdog X5 Home Air Purifer - 450sq.ft

I live in an apartment building in NYC. Received this unit yesterday. Turned it on and the reading of Air Quality was in the 50s. I let it run for a couple of hours and the AQ reading decreased to 4. This unit has wheels. I rolled it into my bedroom. Same story. Initial reading in the 30s...in 1 hour down to 5.I now have the unit non-stop running on Automatic, which works great.The ventilation in the hallway is very poor and some of my neighbors smoke (the hallways often smell like cigarette smoke). When I open my apartment's door...this unit notices the poor air quality inflow because the AQ reading automatically increases...it does its job, and in a few minutes brings it down again to below 10. I can tell because the cigarette smoke scent disappears from my entrance.The unit comes with a sensor that, once the battery has charged, you can take it to any room, and it will measure the Air Quality before needing to move the unit.I did experience the odd smell right out of the box. Gone in a few hours. The filtered air smells clean.I have owned several air purifiers from other brands over the years, this one is very different. By far the best.

I purchased this device from its IndieGoGo campaign, and now feel comfortable reviewing it after using it for a while. The more money a product costs (compared to its competition), the more time I want to use it before reviewing it. Scroll to the things I like/things I dislike section at the bottom if you just want to get to the more important details. Over the last year, I ve purchased and reviewed about 5 or 6 different air purifiers (some for me, some as gifts for family members), so I ve done a lot of research about the different kinds available. The Airdog X5 is the one I currently use in my bedroom (where I spend the most time), while using the less expensive purifiers in other rooms in the house. HEPA air filters are the most common, but they only capture 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 gm, while the Airdog X5 can capture 99.99% of particles down to 0.0146 gm (viruses are double that size, so germs don t stand a chance with the Airdog). Another difference is that HEPA only stores what it captures, so if you have mold in the room, the HEPA filter will capture it and the mold will continue to grow in the filter. Air purifiers that use ionic fields (like the Airdog X5, the Sharper Image Ionic Comfort, the Envion Ionic Pro Turbo, the Nectar HexaDuo, etc ) kill all of the germs/viruses that pass through the field, and then capture it in washable collection plates. So, you don t have to purchase new filters like with HEPA, and you are killing germs and viruses in your room (as well as collecting dust and other particles), making the air extremely clean. The way that this works is that it creates a positive electrical charge inside the device, which kills the airborne pathogens that pass through it (bacteria, viruses, mold, pollen, allergens, etc V you get the idea) and then uses a negatively charged metallic filter to cause everything that was just zapped with the positive charge to be attracted to it and stick to it. Finally, the ions are neutralized and only clean air exits the machine. This machine is very expensive, but you are getting a lot for your money. The air purifiers that use ionic fields that I mentioned earlier in my review only use either one or two (depending on which purifier) metal wires to generate a germ killing ionic field inside the device. The Airdog X5 uses 17 wires to generate the ionic field, so nothing is getting through this filter alive. Another benefit to this is that no particles will blow out of the device (since the ionic field is so strong and the metallic plates are so dense). I confirmed this with a particle counter that I put on top of the device to check the particles coming out of the top of the fan. Speaking of particle counter, the device comes with one on the back of it (the numbers you see on the front of the device in pictures). There is also an LED that will change colors (along with the numbers on the front), depending on the air quality in your room. The readings on my device are usually in the 5-10 range. This is easily achievable if you keep your door and windows closed, as the Airdog will be able to clean the air in the room very easily if there isn t constant outside airflow coming into the room. If you keep your doors and windows open (which really defeats the purpose of using an air purifier, but that s neither here nor there), you may see a small bump to about 20. Anything less than 50 is considered good. I notice the numbers jump up when I am cooking in another room and open the door to the room containing the Airdog, even for a few seconds. By default, I usually like to keep the device in Sleep mode, which means all of the LEDs are off (except for one very tiny LED that is lightly illuminated to show that the device is in sleep mode and not off ), and the fan operates in near silent mode, since I like having a quiet room. However, if I always run the device in turbo mode an hour before I go to sleep (to thoroughly clean the air), and whenever I am cooking or planning to spend some time in the bedroom. It s great to thoroughly freshen up the air before putting the device in a more quiet mode, without LEDs distracting you. As for the modes, the default is an automatic mode, which means it will use its own particle sensor to determine the fan speed. If you cycle through the options, you can move it from auto and then go to low, medium, high, turbo, and then sleep mode. There is also a pre-filter to filter out the larger particles (dust and pet hair) in the air to preserve the time it takes to make the metallic filters fill up with even smaller debris. When you purchase the device, it comes with a remote that lets you reset the clean filter timer, enable the child lock, pair to WiFi, etc. As others have mentioned, pairing the device to WiFi and using the app can be a pain, and I don t even care to try, as long as the included remote works.
