[Rewarded Review] Super fast cooling but small compartments and limited insulation properties.
I was really excited for this product. It seemed like an awesome product that I could use on the road when we go places. The only thing that I was not a big fan of is the fact that the compartments are pretty small and when you combine that with the lack of insulation properties, you end up needing to have ice packs in those compartments if you leave it out in a hot car while you’re out somewhere in order to keep those areas cool. I do like the fact that the compartments cool down very quickly, that’s probably because of the small size. One thing to keep in mind also is that it cools the refrigeration department before the freezer, so don’t think anything is wrong when it’s plugged in and the freezer is not cooling yet. you can have two different temperatures in each area, and the included car jack is also great because while we were driving two hours, everything was staying cool. I just really wish that it had better insulation properties so that the compartments stayed colder when it’s turned off or perhaps an integrated battery would help.
[Rewarded Review] Alpicool 25 Qt. 12V-24V/110V dual power, dual zone refrigerator/freezer with independent control (Model NLS35)
This 25Qt. Alpicool fridge/freezer replaced my old regular ice cooled cooler for a couple of work trips this summer as well as getting some time as a temporary "snack fridge" in the living room and a car cooler for grocery trips as a test. Not having to deal with melting ice was nice. One thing I like about this unit is that it has two sections that can each be used as a refrigerator or freezer or turned off entirely to save energy. This allows one to use only what is necessary for the task at hand. Not a big deal if you are powering the unit off 110V house power or 12V car power with the vehicle running, but if you are powering the Aplicool with a battery system, being as efficient as possible helps. Typically I think most people will use the larger compartment (18.6L volume) as the refrigeration side and the smaller compartment (4.7L volume) for frozen items. If you prefer to run them both as refrigeration or turn the smaller side off for power efficiency, that's possible (though not super clear the first couple of times you try) with the sparse control panel. The panel does show current temps for each compartment so you know how well things are working, along with some compressor stats such as cooling mode (Max or Eco mode) and battery draw safety settings (low, med, high) for how much draw the compressor puts on the power system if you are using battery (12V car or external battery). I like this feature as I did use a 40V battery to power the cooler while out working - our utility vehicle turns off the 12V plugs when the vehicle is off - more on how long it lasted in a bit. Another thing I like about this unit is that the door orientation is reversible. One of the first things I did was to flip the doors so that that when the unit was in the car, the passenger could more easily open the covers and access the interior. Swapping door orientations is fast and easy. And the doors snap securely closed and have a good tight gasket seal. When plugged into 110V power, cooling to standard refrigerator (~4˚C,lg side)/freezer (~-15˚C, sm side) temps took about 20 minutes. Cooling the unit similarly in the car took about the same time. I did not try to cool from ambient to use temps with an external battery - the draw would be too great. Get the unit to temp on AC power then put it in the car/plug in a battery pack to keep it at temp. At home, indoors, the unit lasted about 7 hours on a 6Ah/40V battery AC converter. Out in the field at about 80˚F in mixed sun and shade it took about 5 hours to deplete the battery. If you plan on running this type of cooler on battery, I recommend a larger modern type battery/solar "generator" type battery. One nice thing is that the Alpicool is designed for 12/24V DC (car/RV), My car has a 16V DC battery which often doesn't play well with 12V appliances. It worked perfectly with the Alpicool! Clearly, the promotional photos show the compartments stuffed with food, but obviously, the contents of the cooling compartments have to fit completely inside so the doors close. Being used to a normal ice chest cooler, the compartments feel very small - but since no ice is needed to cool the system, no ice takes up any space. This 25Qt. unit has a little less space than a standard cooler, (one of the larger sized units would come closer to the total capacity of a normal ice cooler) but you get cooling and freezing. So, there are a lot of things to like about this 25 Qt. Alpicool: the same general size as an ice cooler, the ability to have fridge/freezer compartments, the various power options, changeable door orientations. There are, however, some things that some might find less than optimal: The compartments are smaller than one might expect - still good sized for a long weekend or a hot day, but not a cavernous ice hole. One side (with the small compartment) houses the compressor, and it makes the unit heavier on one side - possibly too heavy for smaller people to easily lift/carry, especially if the unit is full of food. This size Aplicool (25 Qt.) does not have wheels and a handle (I believe the 45 Qt. size does) and the carry handles are only molded into the side, not flip out style handles, so grip can be a little less than secure, especially, I think, if you have larger hands. And, finally, As much as I like the electronic cooling, I wish the insulated box was a bit more insulated - I feel like this unit (maybe all of this style of powered cooler?) rely more on powered cooling than insulation. I'd prefer to see a bit more ability to keep things cool longer when the power is down, or to allow a bit more efficiency of use of limited power sources by increasing insulation just a little bit.Overall, This Alpicool 25 Qt. cooler is a reasonably efficient and sized unit that works well but could be a little better.
[Rewarded Review] Absolutely fantastic electric cooler
I have been wanting one of these coolers for the longest while and I finally got my hands on one, no more taking up limited space with ice or freeze packs for me. I love the different ways you can configure the two compartments to suit your needs, whether it be with drinks or making a trip to the grocery and storing your perishables in case you have to make additional stops. The instructions were fairly simple, I'm still having to check it to get the settings right.
[Rewarded Review] Alpicool NLS35 Portable Refrigerator
This portable refrigerator is a perfect size for short getaways such as a tailgate party at a sports event, day-long family picnic or camping with your vehicle for a day or two. My dual zone refrigerator was delivered in a very sturdy cardboard box while protected in plastic and Styrofoam inside. There is an owner's manual and a DC cord for vehicle use and an AC cord for home use. There is a simple easy-to-read front panel with buttons for power, temperature, cooling modes, etc. I initially used the MAX setting and was able to freezer and fridge temperatures within a matter of minutes. I then switched to ECO mode to save energy. I was amazed at how fast I was able to create ice in my designated freezer section. The motor is very quiet in both mode and I ran it ran perfectly fine for two straight days of use. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance of this portable refrigerator and cannot wait to take it out on a weekend camping trip that I have planned for the near future.

[Rewarded Review] Can be used in the home or in the car
This is a review for a 25 quart portable refrigerator that can be used in a car, home or office. The unit works good, it comes in 3 sizes, I purchased the 25 quart because it is lighter and fits in my car easily, compared to the larger models. I like that it has 2 electrical plugs, you can use the cigarette lighter adapter when in the car or you can use the home electrical outlet adapter when inside the home or office.
[Rewarded Review] A must have for a road trip, fishing trip, boating or an outdoor party.
I'm really impressed with the quality and performance of this Alpicool portable refrigerator / freezer. I've been using it for a while now and realized this is the most convenient way to keep my beverages cold, whenever I'm on the go or just relaxing on my deck. *** This Alpicool cooler has two compartments and each compartment can be adjusted to work as either refrigerator or freezer independently. Two compartments are different in size ( I'm attaching pictures with dimensions of each compartment. I took my own measurements). A very nice feature of this cooler is its removable lids that can also be repositioned to open in different directions for the convenience. Cooler produces very little noise/sound when in use ( rated at 45dB). *** It comes with 2 separate power cords and could be connected to different power sources. One is for use with a regular 110V household power outlet and second is for use with a car/RV/boat cigarette outlet. I've been using it both ways for a couple of fishing trips to the lake and when enjoying a summer weekend with friends and family in the back yard. This Cooler is not heavy therefore moving it in/out of a car is effortless. *** For safety, this product has many certifications including important one - ETL ( see pictures). *** A built-in USB outlet is a great
[Rewarded Review] Awesome Portable Electric Cooler.
This thing is awesome. It has so many options. Each side is controlled separately amd can each be a cooler or freezer. Or both can be the same. The lids can be switched to open from either side. Also, it can run on plug in AC or from a 12 VDC source. Cool down was super fast. 68 degrees down to 32 in less than 15 minutes. 32 down to 0 in about 5 more. I dod notice that when one side is cooling, the other does warm up a couple degrees. After watching it for a while, it seems the the compressor rotates from one side to the other; continually flipping back and forth to keep botj at the set temperature. Either way, this cooler is amazing.
