A lot of fun.
First, we love the tent and they provide fantastic customer service!! Seriously. This product may not be perfect for our situation, it may have some mild flaws but they have the customer service to compensate. If you’re using to contain a special needs toddler, it will work. If you’re trying to contain a special needs destructive Tasmanian toddler (if you have one, you know what I mean), the mesh is easy to rip with teeth or a sharp finger nail. See the picture of the toddler sized hole in the window.Be very careful inserting the top tent poles. They can easily puncture through the fabric. I’m not entirely sure how it happened because I wasn’t being aggressive or forcing it. See pic of tent pole sticking out the sides.I would recommend they remove the Velcro from the tent, completely. It damages the mesh in transit. It’s even worse after washing. See the pics with the circles drawn on it to show how many it came with.I’ve purchased two of these tents (one through Amazon and one through Alvantor’s web site). Both times, the mesh arrived with some damage in transit from the Velcro. I circled all of the holes the second time. I didn’t think to take pics with the first one. It’s a great bed tent for a kid or an adult. Just not a destructive one. We are going to try the Alvantor bed tent with only two mesh doors before we move on to an insurance approved special needs bed for a child with autism.
Very well-made tent
We got this tent for my daughter's room to provide a cozy night time environment. We didn't need to keep out any mosquitoes, but we wanted it to be breathable and cool since her room is always hot.I was reluctant to buy it because it was SO expensive, but I am very pleased the quality. The company thought of everything, no detail is overlooked. The pockets for the shock poles have little zippers on them to keep the poles from popping out or to keep kids from accidentally collapsing the tent. It can be opened from either end and from either side. Nothing is shoddily made or hastily put together. It is very well-designed product. We are using it with a loft bed and it was a bit tricky to get it set up. Lifting the mattress up and sliding it into the tent, all while the whole thing was on a high platform, was no trivial matter. But despite my struggling and some tension put on the tent during this time, there were no rips or tears. So it appears to be pretty sturdy and I hope it will last for some long time. Once in place it not only looks nice but is very effective for what we wanted. My daughter requests could it please come in different colors? The gendered pink or blue only was not appealing to her. :)
Awesome for special needs parents.
This bed tent is a sanity saver, let me explain why....For some kids a bed tent is fun and games. It provides the child their own private space. For us parents with a special needs kid who won’t stay put, we need something safe and effective to keep them from wandering the house at all hours of the night. We had a crib with a tent but it was overdue for an upgrade for our growing kid, but we didn’t want to give up our bed tent that kept him safe and us a break from the anxiety of him wandering the house unsupervised. Thankfully we found this bed tent, which went on the top bunk of a new bunk bed set. It was a low profile bunk bed so this tent fits on top with plenty of room.It pops up easily with three poles slid into the top to help it maintain structure. The poles insert easily but it takes some manipulation to zip them closed. The tent has entrances on both sides and ends, so you have an access door anywhere you need one. The twin mattress slides in easily and you will quickly have a safe and comfortable space for your kid. This tent is sturdy and has held up well to lots of pushing and pulling on the sides. I have zero concerns about the quality of this product. It gets five stars for both quality and function. We are very grateful for this product and it has provided us with a sense of safety during the night, which is something that can be taken for granted when you don’t have a kid with special needs.
