Need to buy wood to attach to horizontal board

Got the mailbox home. Nice style and good price but I have to go back to buy wood to attach it to my existing horizontal mail post. Look in box before you bring it home so you understand.

This is a very nicely styled mailbox. Sturdy and looks great against my home. So why the low rating? Because the bottom of this mailbox has multiple protrusions where the treated board is supposed to connect the mailbox to the post. I believe that if you also purchase the post kit for this mailbox, everything would fit together nicely but not everyone wants (or needs) a new post. Just a new mailbox. This would get 5 starts if they either redesigned the bottom, or offered a plastic structure to connect this to the 4 X 4 post.

Outstanding value for under $18 with great style and a 10-year warranty! It's larger than my plain old standard metal mailbox and can't rust because it's HDPE plastic, but it doesn't look cheap and it's thick and sturdy and bird poop is easy to wash off. Installation was easy on my existing decorative cast iron post mount, even though I had to drill 2 holes to secure it. I also drilled 2 holes in the top to mount my decorative mailbox topper street number. It's approved by the US Postal Service. I've had this for a month and highly recommend it.

Does everything it is suppose to do. Strong and sturdy and easy to install.

I'm not sure about this product yet! I don't exactly like the way the door closes so I put a magnetic cabinet holder on the door. I think the door should be able to close or snap clothes better than it does.

Very good basic mailbox. Larger than previous one replaced.

I bought this to replace a neighbor's box that had been crushed in a storm. Very nice product.
