Love the look, but MDF board

Love the look but this is compressed MDF board. Underside of one small defect illuminating the fact this is compressed wood, manufacturer just stained over the defect. , ,,,,,, Small amounts of wood putty in a few other places, obvious because the stain picks up differently, but luckily they are in somewhat hidden areas. So for the price I don't feel the quality is up to par. A little bit confusing to assemble, but my husband and I got the job finished in about an hour. All in all, love the collection. Also bought the island desk, console, 60" shelf, 30" shelf, and ladder bookcase. The collection looks nice. Stain smell is still lingering quite strong after 7 days. All pieces MDF and minor obvious manufacturer defects filled in with wood putty. But unless you're scrutinizing, like I was for shipping damage, they aren't that noticeable. Again, overpriced for the quality, especially MSRP.

Good looking piece, very functional

Arrived exactly as pictured (after ~2 hours of assembly for hutch and filing drawer assembly). All pieces went together very easily, but I did need to fiddle with the file drawer runners to get the file drawers to close. Piece is beautiful and very functional. I bought some baskets for the open shelves to store all desk accessories for a busy family of 4. Seems very durable, it is CERTAINLY very heavy. It is laminate wood, so don't expect solid. Great piece all around.
