Not 18 inches

This towel bar is 19 inches from center to center. The rod itself is 17.25. I don't know who decided to sell this as 18 inches but it isn't even close. It looks fine, but I was trying to avoid drilling new holes. Now I have to drill, texture and paint. Very frustrating.

It was hard to find, but it is just about what we were looking for.

Terrible install

The engineer who designed this and tried to save the company a nickel by using a screw (and not even a Phillips head) rather than Allen head ought to be dealt with severely. First trying to find an eye glass screw driver when I’ve got a box of Allen wrenches received from other towel rack manufacturers over the years was a pain. Then to almost have to stand on my head with a flashlight to get the screwdriver in the slot. I can’t help but think that any company that was so cheap as to cut corners on a screw head must have made a product that is likely to turn to rust in a week or so. We shall see.

Classy and solid. Very pretty. Much more refined looking than what you find in big box stores.

This was packaged as an 18 inch rod. I installed the brackets using the template provided and then measures to be sure they were 18 inches on center. When I tries to install the rod, I discovered that it was actually about 19 1/2 inches. This meant I had to remove the bracket and anchors, move them an inch and a half apart and reinstall. I also had to patch the original holes and paint the patch.

Handsome and sturdy.
