It seems fine.
I got the black one, and it seems fine. I like the look of it, but it doesn't tilt up like you might expect from the picture, making it seem a bit shorter. It is a neutral piece in my opinion. Also of note is that the switch is also on the cord instead of on the lamp itself. It does look like the paint might be easy to scratch, but I haven't had any problems so far.
