The metallic background is paper cardstock. Fingernails will scratch it. Such poor quality. Looks like a nightmare to clean and I don't foresee these lasting in a home for more than a year. 0/5 stars. Don't waste your time/money.

This is a beautiful addition to my bedroom. I replaced a plain Jane brass wall plate, moving it to the hallway. Now all three bedrooms have Amerelle antique brass wall plates, which go nicely in a traditional home with a French country flair and lots of antique pieces.

The background is really shiny which doesn’t show up in the online picture. The general effect is kind of gaudy and cheap looking. Put it on the wall (which meant I couldn’t return it) and lived with it for a week but couldn’t like it in the end. Not a classy look.

Antique Style without the Antique Price

I got this switch plate cover because it compliments our original antique Eastlake door hardware. It's good quality metal, not some flimsy molded plastic cover.

The plates turned black and I tried numerous products for brass to clean them. I had rivets fall out of the holes the screws went into. I have had them for 4 years but I have other plates much longer that look like new. I spent the extra money on these expecting that they would last much longer. I love the look and design, they looked fabulous for the first couple years.

Not white and looks cheap

What a disappointment. I wanted a white wall plate since it sits next to a white alarm box. This wall plate is off-white. The screws are white and that makes it even more obvious that the plate is almond colored. The black paint that is supposed to make it look distressed makes it look cheap.

Beautiful, Elegant

The quality of this wallplate is much better than I expected, very sturdy and worth the price. Even my kids love how pretty it looks, has a lot of detail in design. Highly recommend to add elegance to the room!
