did not get to use it

I got it for my 1 goldfish that was in a kiddie pool. He survived 2 winters in our above ground pool. It sprung a leak and emptied and just left the deep have of the pool with water. Then I ended up with a 12 foot kiddie pool. Added the remainder of the pool water to it and then some rainwater to fill up. Summer came and it was hot. The algae was out of control. So I thought to try this product. However we ended up with a severe rain storm with pummeling rain for hours. The poor goldfish was seriously stressed and died. 11 inches deep could not protect the fish. I also bought some water hyacinth. They arrived after the fish died.

I diluted and added 1/2 recommended amount of algaecide then waited two days and added the second half. Fish showed no signs of stress and water became crystal clear within two days. It recommends treating water once a week but I only treat my pond (1000 gallons) every 2-3 weeks with great results. The light bulb in my filter that kills algae has gone out but by using this algaecide I don't have the expense of replacing the bulb, just cleaning the filter.
