Great lunchbox, very sturdy and large capacity

Fair warning

I bought two of these for my kids to use in school. Nearly one month of using it, the outside coating started peeling off (the colored part). I emailed customer service and to be really fair they replied very promptly. I asked if I can refund at least partially, obviously not possible. But they were kind enough to offer to send me new ones. I asked if I can just have something else even anything of lower value as long as I don't have to deal with paint peeling off and going to my children's food (not to mention the peeled coating started falling off on our other utensils in the dishwasher) but they sent me the same product. It's honestly so problematic every morning that I don't want to use the new ones they sent me. I thought about giving them away to friends but at this rate, I don't even think I could.

Good so far.

Great! No leaking so far. It would be great if it comes with instructions on opening, I thought I was going to break it haha. A bit heavy and does say microwave safe but seems like steel so I’m a bit perplexed. Haven’t tried to microwave yet

Used product received

I received an obviously used product. There is sticker residue on the bottom of the box and scratches on the inside.

Bad design

The lid is too tight to open for a young kid. The box is quite heavy too.

Major Design Flaw

Extremely hard to open. Major design flaw. Customer service was difficult about returning this item. It must be a know issue. Not the first review to not this. After years of using these lunchboxes for my kids, I’m very disappointed with this company now.

Great product, needs more dividers.

I love it. But I wish it had a second divider or another smaller divider inside.

Difficult to open

I bought these for my child’s lunch box. The lid is very difficult to open. It caused the insides to spill out when using force to open. Also don’t like that you have to remove valve, that will definitely get lost

As other reviewers stated the coating came off after the first few washes 😔

Challenging for Younger Kids to Open Independently

My 8 and 5-year-olds have difficulty opening these containers at school on their own, which has been a bit frustrating. I was hoping for something more user-friendly for younger children.

Paint chipping and difficult to open.

I spent an immense amount of time researching stainless steel boxes for lunches and had settled on Bentgo. However, I should've paid more attention to the reviews that noted how quickly the paint chipped off after just one wash(even the "stainless steel" color - presumably this should not have an extra pigment!). For spending so much money on this item, I would've expected higher quality. Finally, it is nice that the container locks securely, but it is too difficult for our childcare provider to open every day.

Very good, needs extra dividers for sale

I love this thing. I like the satisfying hiss of air as I release the seal and it does a really got job of keeping wet stuff separate from crunchy dry stuff. I just wish they sold extra dividers because I like to sometimes use the divider from my second box to make three compartments.

Not convenient as a glass but stylish

I would give a 4-star rating for this purchase. It is not convenient as a glass container because you can't dishwash/microwave lid/divider - it is always extra work to clean. But it is stylish, looks sturdy and big. Will buy more!

Not suitable for kids

Giving 1 star because it’s impossible for my kids to open the bento box

Great little box for my lunch. Good size. Haven't tried it in the microwave yet!

Avoid this item

In principle this is a great idea but the divider does not actually separate items - it inevitably moves and they commingle. And the paint on the outside chips almost immediately.
