I have yet to install. Did notice cracks running down post. Not sure if it's a defect and will affect the performance.

Quick and easy set up had it for about two weeks already it’s working out great

Missing pieces

I ordered 4 of these for an outdoor project that I needed 4 cedarwood posts with anchor plates. I didn’t use the actual mailbox arm. I could’ve gotten the lumber at a local hardware store, but the lumber they had was rough and would have required a ton of refinishing to be presentable. I assumed these mailbox posts would be in better condition. Unfortunately they were not. They still required sanding due to jagged cuts and splinters of wood sticking out. Additionally the holes drilled in the bottom of the posts are not big enough to fit the anchor plates, so either you need to make the holes bigger or use a mallet to hammer the post into the plate (not a great alternative as cedar is soft and gets divots easily). On top of that these posts are NOT 6” - they are more like 4”. We were able to make it work, thankfully, but if I would’ve known all of this I would’ve saved myself 100 by going to a local hardware store and buying 2 8 ft posts and cutting them to size. It would’ve been less effort than the effort I expended trying to get the plates into the posts.

Difficult to Install

I do not recommend this mailbox post. The post was rough and not very sturdy. We will have to sand and finish it in order to avoid splinters and protect it from the elements. Installation was complicated by the fact that the hole at the bottom of the post was not long enough for the drive-in metal stake. Despite our efforts to hammer it in, the drive-in metal stake would not fit all the way into the post. It seems like an easy installation but is not if your post has similar issues.

Didn’t workout not secure

A complete description wasn’t accurate. Depth was listed as 6” but actually only 6” on one side and 4” on the other.

The post looked beautiful when arrived but the post was pretty rough and had to be sanded to make it smooth. Also, broke when we used hammer to install it!

Looks great. The mailbox I bought was too large for it, and I could not use the top of the pole. I was still able to use it without the top with extra brackets.

Hardware doesn’t fit, had to buy appropriate screws:(

I couldn’t have been offered this at a better time! We live in a rural area with mostly dirt so it was important that this was as sturdy as possible. We added a little bit of paint and another stabilizer just in case.

Great look

The look of the wood on this post is beautiful. I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a new mailbox post. I switched from my plastic one to this one.

I love this mailbox post. It was super easy to put together and it comes with a spike so its super easy to put in the ground. It has already weathered a few storms too so its holding up great!

New mailbox and post.

For the umpteenth time I’m having to replace my mailbox. Never because of poor workmanship or product flaw but but because some human destroyed it and left the old one laying on the ground. I must say this new one is the easiest to install of all the previous and is very attractive.
