Good for our chickens

So far so good as a water jug for our chickens. The spigot sets a little more loosely than I’d like but is not leaking. The lid goes on VERY tight and is hard to get off. I filed down the inner lip of the lid to make it easier to pop off while still holding itself on.

The rain barrel arrived promptly and initially seemed to meet my expectations. Regrettably, upon attempting to install the spigot, I encountered an issue: its placement rendered it inoperable because the barrel's design prevented the turning mechanism from turning. Despite this setback, I improvised by directly connecting a hose to the barrel and utilizing the on/off switch of a separate sprayer affixed to its opposite end.

I have 9 rain barrels around the house and 2 275 gal. IBC totes to catch water for my garden. I bought this one for the front of the house. It looks nice and has held up well in the southern heat. Here's a tip..drain in the late fall so any remaining water does not freeze and damage the barrel and use metal faucets not the plastic ones.

I wish that these had 2 faucets, but other than that they are PERFECT. First off, the price is wonderful. I've seen them for more than twice as much. Second, they are black which will cut down on growth in them. I now have 6 of them & love them.

The actual barrels are good…. The lid was a bear to put on.

So far so good....

Seems to be OK from what I can see. It has quickly filled with water- I will have to wait and see how it does when I have to actually water with it.

Beware of increased prices!

While I was pleased with this product I was appalled that the updated price was increased substantially. Makes me feel that future purchases will be increased as well.

Missing hardware

My original order and replacement order for the rain barrel were both missing the hardware. Maybe third times a charm? Looks like a great rain barrel, I wish I could use one.

Nice product, however some parts (screws) were missing in one barrel. Spigot is NOT at the very bottom of the barrel, so barrel cannot be drained completely through spigot.

Great rain barrel! Spigot was easy to install and doesn't leak. I left to lid loose but it's easy to take off! I like that so I can dip a pitcher in to water flowers!

This is the first year in 15 that I have planted vegetables in my late dad's field. I had been watering by hand and decided to cut that time in half with these barrels. I rely on the monsoons and to have these barrels for storing windmill water has been great. Just hook up the water hose (also from Tractor Supplies - Gallup) and let the water do it's job. Can't wait for the vegetables! Great investment.
