Nice gate

Seems well made and was easy to install. Looks really good where we put it. Very pleased… would recommend.

Great gate except...

Great gate except that you had to purchase and install the separate latch and hinge set.

Gate width is 56.5 inches, 3.5 inches short of standard 60 inches.

I laid out and drilled all post holes based on a 60 inch wide gate. Gate width is 56.5 inches. Had to open all drilled holes with a spade since the first gate post was located in a concrete walkway.

I read all the other reviews that stated it comes with the 2 posts, the hinges and the gate latch, but mine did not! Very disappointed. So, when its all said and done this “gate” is going to cost me almost twice as much…would have bought elsewhere if i had known.

Who measured this product?

The 5 ft W (60") gate was actually only 54" W - a full 4 inches short. I could not use the gate. Getting the gate delivered once it reached Northern CA and within 20 miles of the address was exceedingly slow and filled with inaccurate communications.

This Fortress Athens aluminum pressed spear design fence gate is perfect for any location you might need a gate. It would look great added to a gloss black aluminum fence. We used it as a gate for our entry to our carport and back deck. It fit perfectly in the opening and easy to install with the included hinges and latch. Instructions are written well and easy to follow. The gate is very light weight so it is easy to open and close in a high traffic area.

Nice looking aluminum gate painted glossy black. Comes with 4' x 4' gate, 2 6' posts (long enough to bury deep enough for a stable installation), 2 self-closing hinges, and a latch. The frame of the gate is all welded, with gussets added for stability. The posts were quite heavy and I was worried a bit they were steel but a magnet doesn't stick, so I can happily say I think they are just heavy duty aluminum posts. The hinges are self closing and come with an adjustable tension screw. The latch is also painted black, but I think that is steel (a magnet sticks to it). The hinges and latch come with self-tapping screws (also painted black) so you can adjust the position and handed-ness of the gate as needed. The mounting holes are not pre-drilled. Because it's aluminum, its light weight which makes it easy to install and easy to open and close. The main gate came completely assembled (its all welded). It is up to you to get the two posts installed nice and plumb and straight - but that's true for any fence job!

Excellent quality. I was shocked when this arrived on a pallet, I thought I'd have to put a million pieces together. It's pre-built, and very good quality. It looks like it was welded together very well, and won't easily break like many gates we've had before. The paint job is very heavy and doesn't look like it will start peeling anytime soon. I think this item will last for many years
