Very disappointed. I rarely post negative reviews. Quality was quite poor. The vendor went so far to save money that the underside of the drawer fronts were not laminated so when you remove something from the lower drawer it catches on the rough unfinished edge of the upper drawer bottom. Hard to believe why you wouldnt finish the entire drawer front especially with delicate items in the drawer below. The instructions were very difficult, we got though it but some of the diagrams were barely readable particularly the drawer sliders installation instructions and drawings. The instructions even called for usind an awl to start a pilot hole for screws! Honestly how many people have an awl in their home tool bag. I used a small drill. The holes could have been easily been pre drilled. Just very disappointed and as Ive said I rarely write negative reviews if ever.
An absolute nightmare to put together. The parts arent labelled and the instructions are just drawings. You have to figure out a lot to put it together. For some screws, the holes arent pre-drilled making it insanely difficult if you dont have the correct tools. It took me about 6 hours to assemble this. Quality looks cheap but so far the drawers havent given away
Worst assembly process ever.
Nothing is labeled. Nothing. Not the “wooden” parts, the hardware, the screws, nothing. The only thing provided is a book of pictures. You pretty much have to figure the rest out for yourself. Does this board go on the left side or right? Finished side or not? Do they mean this short screw, the medium or the longer one? Holes are too big for the screw, have to make some yourself. I mean, seriously!!! It’s a nightmare. If you have an entire weekend to blow playing the guessing game, buy this. Next time I’ll be buying a dresser that’s already assembled.
Could be nice, if It could be assembled…
UPDATE: Looks like I jus wasn’t reading the instructions correctly, finally got them put together. The first one took me quite a while, but once I figured that one out it wasn’t so bad. I still wish the screws and other hardware had been separated and labeled, as that would have definitely cut down on trying to search through a bunch of screws to figure out which ones were the correct ones! I have now changed from 2 to 4 stars and hope that they hold together so I don’t have to update this again… Looks like it could be a decent dresser, however the holes for the drawer sides are too big for the screws provided, so waiting on a reply from the company to see what can be done. Also it would have been extremely helpful if the screws had been separated in their own baggies or something and labeled as it is not fun trying to determine which screw is which… really hope we get a response before too long, as I ordered 3 of them and I am not opening the other 2 until I know how this will be handled. Hate sitting here with them unusable for a long period of time because the wrong items were supplied! UPDATE, the manufacture sent me replacement sides for one that are exactly the same as the first. So, we sit still with completely unuseable dressers. Waiting on a response again, hope they can figure out the solution soon!
Terrible construction, nice finished product
Certain parts of assembly on this were like pulling teeth. Many holes aren't pre-drilled, meaning you must either have a drill or an awl (in my opinion, they easily could have included an awl considering the price versus quality of this dresser). After assembling the whole thing, I still haven't attached a certain component all the way to the bottom of the drawers because the angle makes it impossible to use a drill and the wood is too hard and smooth to use a screwdriver. On top of that, ALL the tiny pieces were thrown together in one big bag instead of being in their own specifically marked bags, so I had to separate and mark them myself to make my life easier. An extra $2 for some plastic bags wouldn't be much, and it would make the whole process miles easier and faster, you guys. This being an Ikea knock-off, the instructions are pretty awful and you have to pay very close attention to how you're doing things because they do not specify what direction the pieces of wood should lay before you put them together. Try your hardest not to screw up, because a lot of the fasteners are not meant to be removed once they're in and getting them out is an absolute nightmare, speaking from experience. Besides the step of putting it together, the quality of the dresser is so-so. It looks nice, and at least most of the pieces are thick and sturdy. The back piece is thin and flimsy, but that's not a problem as long as you're not too hard on your furniture in general. One of the drawers doesn't want to stay all the way shut and will always slide back out a little bit. I'm mostly pretty happy with it since it's a huge upgrade from the plastic Sterilite bin on wheels I had been using for a dresser, but certain parts of putting it together made me want to rip out my hair.
