Very happy to have this new can opener-- it perfectly and effortlessly slices off can tops. Very helpful for injured or arthritic hands, fingers, or wrists. It is very attractive, pretty colors to choose from. It is noisy when working, but well worth it.

Thies Mama openers are Great!! Push the button it runs around the can an stops that's it!! Runs on 4 batteries for a long long time. I've given two as just house gifts. Oh yah they don't take up any counter space, in the drawer it goes...

Great way to open cans!

I really like this can opener. No sharp edges after opening a can! It’s expensive for a battery-operated item IMO. I wouldn’t call it a substantial product either. The battery cover could easily be misplaced.

Does not work on pull-top cans

I bought a Mama portable can opener because, at my old age of 82, I no longer have the strength to open pull-top cans. It was no use. Standard 16 oz pull-top cans have a lip so high the opener cannot get traction. Sardine cans have a lower lip, but the opener often does not maintain contact

Bought one for my 70 year old self and one for my 93 year old mother-in-law because its hard operating a turn-crank opener. But thus is even harder to understand how it works and lines up correctly.

This is great for anyone with grip issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, or arthritis since you just set it and forget it. The device moves along on its own, cutting off the top and leaves no sharp edges. Convenient little tool. Uses 4 AA batteries., not included.

We had a good run....

Worked great for a couple of years, then became impossible to position it on the cans in order to cut them. ( yes, I tried replacing the batteries….that’s not the issue). Going back to a manual can opener.
