Excellent non skid

Works great. Easy to apply with popcorn salt shacker. Like that it is plastic not sand or organic.

Takes a little practice to get it spread.

We are using the fine grit additive and I believe the directions said to just sprinkle it evenly over the first topcoat while still wet. Perhaps in a perfect environment (an enclosed building with no air moving whatsoever) that 'may' be possible, but most DIYers don't work in a perfect situation. We are in the middle of painting our non-skid while in the water and having to deal with daily wind. Here's the method I've evolved to using and am getting pretty good/even results. Within 10-15 minutes of putting the first topcoat over the primer, I 'attempt' to sprinkle the particles with the confectioners sugar dispenser that is recommended. Keep in mind that for every 1 cup you get on the paint, about 1/4 cup blows in the breeze and is lost, either overboard, to another area on the boat, or even your neighbors boat! This stuff is extremely lightweight! It actually looks much like confectioners sugar. Buy extra if you have a large project. Once you have a 'whole' section covered completely, use a 2-3 inch chip brush to move the crystals around to get even coverage. You'll want to make sure you have plenty of crystals on before starting this because you will drag paint around if you don't. After 3-4 hours or so the paint will be dry enough to go back and lightly brush the excess off and vacuum off.

awlgrip use

I used this product on 36' Rinker top non skid area. I rolled it on, tried shake method, did not yield great results. mixed with paint and gelcoat before hardener or other activators worked best. Took 3 coats to get results desired. Used coarse size.

AWLGRIP MIX RATIO

I dont know why so little product is being called for here. Awlgrips product sheet calls for much more product per gallon..............

Works Great

You'll need to use twice the amount specified to get a surface that is truly "non-skid". Other than that it is an awesome product.
