WARNING the items contain PROPOSTION 65 and causes CANCER. California WAS mandated to post this information by California law on Wayfair for items containing this dangerous chemical used. If I did not have to get the manual, I would not have known of the risk. Please see the attached copy of the notice on Wayfair. It was hidden under the SPECIFICATION which I never opened because my main concern was the width of the bookshelf. I didn't even open the boxes for fear of contamination. They won't let me return this item. I'm so frighten. This is what customer value and services has become.

Not impressed.

Ditto on “you get what you pay for”. Fairly thin cardboard on back - crease lengthwise (when packaged it’s folded in half) which shows when opened up and installed on back of book case. Little coloured stickers go over the screws to cover them. Very tacky. Blueberry colour is darker than what the pics online showed. Overall not impressed and can’t return as we unfortunately threw away the packaging box as we recently moved and threw away a bunch on boxes. This will end up going in a spare room rather than staying in the living room where we needed a narrow bookcase.

I found this product to be very well built and it is very nice to look at after finally assembling it; however, assembling it was quite a challenge due to very hard to understand instructions that lacked clear & simple directions to follow such as: ‘step ‘1, ‘step 2’, ‘step 3’, etc, etc. - just pictures only - which lack a clear flow of assemblage. I was disappointed to realize after putting it together, that a little plastic packet contained glue with no indication on the packet that it was glue, which should have been used in one of the final stages of construction, so I had to disassemble it back to where it should have been applied, and start all over again. Other than that I have no complaints, it’s really a great shelf, but plz be aware that if you purchase this shelf kit, you will need a lot of patience to figure out the supplied instructions to assemble it. Have fun !?!

DO NOT BUY Absolute junk!!

This has to be the cheapest, ugliest bookcase I have ever bought-it will be returned tomorrow. Knew it was particleboard, but took a chance b/c it was off white, which is hard to find. It was poorly made & shipped-damaged corners, rough edges, etc. Laminate too thin, tore during assembly, cam lock holes crooked, shelves are WARPED, stickers to cover cam locks so thin, could still see metal underneath & they began to peel off right after placing them. Black soot all over back panel-disgusting!!

Excellent bookcase for an excellent price

This bookcase arrived sooner than I expected, it was in great shape when I opened it (no damage), and it was relatively easy to assemble. It's incredibly sturdy as well, and I love the adjustable shelves. It comes with a tip over restraint, but it's so stable that I didn't feel like I needed to use it. Exactly what I was looking for. I'm so happy with it. Definitely recommend it. It doesn't feel cheap like other self-assembled furniture.

I am very sorry I purchased this bookcase. Many of the pre-drilled holes are too large and the screws fall right out of them. Some others were too small but at least they could be used by slightly enlarging the holes. I am going to have to putty the holes to try and make this work and the whole project has become a nightmare. Next time I will buy a bookcase from IKEA. I've never had a problem like this with any of their products.

Not worth the time

IMO this was a good idea executed poorly. The cuts aren't perfect, some light carpentry skills are needed to fix everything. The wood is light and soft so its susceptible to dings and nicks. Probably bows with weight and time. If you enjoy the DIY, go ahead but factor in an extra one or 2 days to prime and paint plus the cost of the primer, paint, (topcoat). Kind of small too. You're better off looking elsewhere.

Excellent bookcase / music equipment organizer

I needed a shelving solution to house my digital audio workstation equipment that was: solid, compact had adjustable shelves and was affordable. This product hit all my requirements 100%. It's 68" tall, about 18" wide and about 12" deep. It perfectly houses my Lenovo T500 laptop, digital audio workstation, microphone, headphones, guitar amplifier, all my music books and I still had a shelf available for miscellaneous items.

So much better than expected!

I was skeptical about having a 65 pound package delivered, but I shouldn't have been. It arrived in perfect condition - mainly because it was so very well packed. Everything was exactly as it should be and went together very easily. Some hints to help with assembly: lay out everything before you begin, use a tack hammer instead of a regular hammer, use a level to be sure it is actually level before tightening the screws all the way. Look at how wide the wood is where the tacks will be hammered to be sure you don't miss the wood and cause the tacks to split the wood. The back is not going to hold up if you shove your books in forcefully. Since it is not a deep bookcase, it is top-heavy - you really do need to secure it to a wall or other permanent structure.
