This block looks great and works really well (a couple of weeks in anyway). It was a bit misleading because I thought the description online said you could remove the insert and it was dishwasher safe, but the small instruction card that came with it said to wash gently with water and let dry 24 hours. It also mentions the material will fail if you overstuff or don't generally inser the knives. We've only had it two weeks, but so far so good. It's really easy to insert knives of all sizes (up to 8 inches) and I like the spot for scissors in the front.

Very happy with the knife holder. I have many different size of knives with varying lengths and the block is able to hold all of them. I also like the compactness, taking little space on the kitchen countertop.
The plastic rods make this design flexible re: the placement of each knife or other tool.
[Rewarded Review] Knives fit easily
I tried to replace the insert on my previous one. It was only a few dollars more to get a new one. This one has a place for the scissors in the front. Way better. The knives fit very easily into the rods. My other one (which was more expensive) was so tight that eventually the rods were bent and it was difficult for the longer knives to go in all the way. This one is so much better.
Just as expected
Unfortunately the Bamboo knife block arrived splintered and completely broken. The delivery box appeared to be retaped and in rough condition.

The spokes are soft and yield easily to the knives, holding them in place snugly. The block is sturdy.

This works as intended and looks good too. There may be some subtle design tweaks that could make it better, but it does what it needs to. You can fit quite a few knives in here as well.
I have owned several Kapoosh knife blocks over the years. This one is a bit light on the black tones that hold the knives in. I can only assume that the quality control has slipped.
