Oak Banding works very well.

This was the first time I used this product. It ironed on quite easily as described in the instructions found on packaging. I was even able to remove a piece that started drifting by reheating. I was very pleased to be able to iron on the banding onto the (4) 1” radius corners. I used a small block plane to flush the edges with the oak plywood & then a 6” orbital sander to smooth the entire piece. I had issues with glue buildup on sandpaper and I had had to use caution to not sand the banding wood.

This product is a game changer. I allows you to have a finished edge that unless you know otherwise you would think that the hardwood plywood was solid oak. Gone are the days of having to come up with a trim detail to finish off the plywood. This is the way to go.
