Not worth the money.

The bars that hold the legs together snap easily. I got four of these chairs and two of the chairs have snapped bars, and some of the other bars do not tighten properly and keep falling off. This was a waste of my time and money. Not functional for actual use.

This is real solid wood!!!! The photo showed the walnut to be pretty orange but I crossed my fingers that it would end up being a darker true walnut. I looked at other review photos and it looked like it would work to match my walnut mid century buffet and it did! Easy to put together. They are gorgeous! The photo I included is the leg of the stool held next to the buffet. The price was a great deal compared to other websites selling the exact same stool.

Cool look but crappy joints

Love the look but I agree with the other reviews than say that a they are not very sturdy. I have 4 chairs and most of the stool joints and crossbars are loose. I’m able to tighten some of the cross bars but they keep coming loose after a few days. Some crossbar threadings are stripped so I cannot tighten some stools. If the joints were stronger these would be the very best stools but…

This would be a 5 star review except that the foot bars that hold the stools together are not secure. They are screwed in on both sides in a particlar way that does not hold. Ours have come apart frequently, we have purchased 3, and we are now taking them to a furniture repair place to have them permanently repaired. They are beautiful wood, heavy and well made and a very nice design but it is too bad that they fail badly in terms of assembly.

Joints never tight, slowly giving way

Not sturdy after a year of use. The legs have slowly started waning at the joint and we’ve had to tighten them several times. Keeps slowly giving way. Color is nice and texture hides scratches, but we may have to replace sooner than expected due to longevity issue.

Well built for self assembled item. Looks good and packaged well. More comfortable than you may think for a wooden stool. I sit on it for most of an hour straight while playing guitar using foot bar, but plan to cut a few inches off leg bottoms to get feet flat on floor for more rear and back comfort.

These are very nice, sturdy stools and look fantastic. They were easy to assemble and top notch. The only minor assembly issue were the confusing instructions about the 2 horizontal dowels. Easy to figure out ..... one has two ends with reverse threads (do this one first) and the other dowel has threads in same direction.

Better instructions needed

Hardware package in both stools open with screws etc. found in box. Go through shipping carton thoroughly.Cross brace spindle has to be placed accurately so both sides tighten the same. Direction arrow placed on wrong end of spindle.Other than that, nice solid stools. Once you properly assemble one you can do the rest.

I wouldn't buy this particular stool again

First of all, Hayneedle is super quick to get orders to your home. Secondly though, these stools were kind of a let down. They were very hard to put together because not all of the pieces fit together. I had to make one stool even by putting pennies (!) in the gap. With some elbow grease I managed to put them together except one. I know the rule of thumb is you get what you pay for. So true with these stools.

Nice deep brown color but can still see the wood grain.

Bought 4 to set against granite counter top between kitchen and living room. Not hard to assemble, but take your time and do not overtighten cross braces. Definately solid wood construction, not veneer. Finish is perfect. Swivel mechanism works great. Unexpected metal shield to protect upper side of foot rests. One was missing, but all the others had them. Nice deep brown color, but still can see the wood grain.

Stools wood

I bought 3 of these stools. I love the color, the fact that they swivel, and look really nice. However, putting them together was not easy. In addition, they are not as sturdy as they look. After a friend of mine got off a stool one of the legs cracked. I called the manufacturer directly for a leg replacement. They were very helpful to send me another leg. Unfortunately, it happened again on another stool. I decided not to go through the whole ordeal again. I do not recommend this product.
