The directional heat focus is a great feature. Simple to put together as well.

It was easy to put together, but I overtightened a bolt and it snapped, so go easy. Starts easily and it projects heat well.

Love directional shield cap at top that allows you to direct heat flow in one direction! Other patio heaters did not have a heat directional flow control.

Sand Plate Screws

On these screws I mention in the title, it is untrue that they won't go tightly into place. If one only turns normally then, yes they keep spinning. However, if you apply pressure as you turn, they will catch and sit firmly in place.

metal mesh head distorted

The perforated metal burner at the head of the unit is distorted due to the heat it produced. Not sure how long it will last or if the unit head can be replaced. Might be returning it or looking for a new burner head unit.

The product itself is great. However, the box had water damage and bird droppings on it as well as some holes which appear to have been from forklift forks from being handled at THD. The product inside has some surface rust as a result and some dents in the metal in two places on the product.

Great Patio Heater

I had not seen this heater until I was in the store 2 weeks ago. The heat deflector caught my eye. I have a spa on my deck with chairs next to the spa for drying off. It has been too cold to get out of the spa and dry off before the residual heat from the spa goes away. Then you feel cold. I had thought about getting the standard patio heater that casts it's heat downward. But that meant it would have to be close to the spa and displace some of my chairs.

Very good price for what you get. Setup instructions were clear and easy to follow, My wife and I love the ability to direct the heat… and it really works! You’ll need sand to put in the base and that’s a good thing. One more thing, it is easy to ignite the heater,

The pilot would light, but it wouldn’t stay on when you tried to turn it to full power.

The item itself is very good. Unfortunately I was given boxes that were saturated with storm water and smelt unpleasant which made the assembly process kind of gross. Fortunately the heater parts were not damaged.

Simple assembly

Directs heat very well. Very simple assembly, about 30 minutes by myself. Throws a LOT of heat, even on low.

This is a good product, but the setup and delivery took a couple of attempts to get it right. Also, the starter batteries were dead after the 2nd use.

Product Defects

As others have noted, the threaded inserts on the base are not well secured and spin when trying to tighten the bolts. Note you need to buy sand and this product did not come with a cover (factor that into the final price when shopping.) Works so far.
