Beautiful piece in my husband’s office

We like this bookshelf very much. It is beautiful, modern, and looks very good on the wall, especially with our Eldridge media cabinet right next to it.

Ordered Bookshelf but had to Cancel due to Damage

We were excited to order the Bayard Bookshelf and waited 4 months for its arrival. It looked great on the site. But when it was delivered, it came damaged so it was returned to Modloft. Customer Service was great but we were told it would take another 2-3 months to receive another bookshelf. We cancelled the order and got a prompt refund. We hope to buy from Modloft at a later date but, for now, we will wait until delivery times are more expedient.

Good looking wall unit

Although Bayard is very attractive, the metal wall supports that fit inside the top shelf do not fit snugly so some shelves tilt forward, making it difficult to align adjoining shelves. Also, if your walls are not perfectly flat, you will not be able to align the shelves to each other. Finally, the intermediate shelves are thin with a low weight capacity so If you plan to "stack" them with books, look elsewhere.

When finished the bookshelf was beautiful. However, the tubes and screws that hold it together were poorly designed. It was easy to pull the threads out of the tubes. The tubes should have had a little thick wall thickness and better tapping of threads. Ended up replacing all screws with #12 close thread and retapping all rods. It would have been very expensive to hire a contractor to install. I was lucky I was able to re-engineer all the bolting. And, it took over six months to get. For what went into hanging it properly it should have cost half of what I paid for it ……...

Another fail!

See October 18 review. Just refused delivery on the replacement order for the damaged shelves from my original July 2 order. Once again--shelves were damaged on corners upon unpacking, wood split along front of shelves. Again--box and packing looked fine. I have tried to call Modloft and had to leave a message. I have also emailed. Will be waiting to see how long it takes to get a resolution. Save yourself the frustration! Don't order from this company.

Poor Quality

It took for ever for the furniture to be delivered, understandable because of covid delays, BUT the quality of this furniture is terrible, it peals off when removing the stickers from it!! Loved the design, but the quality is terrible and…. I have not yet heard back from customer service….

Very Nice Bookshelf

It took for ever to arrive, but it was worth the wait. The self needs installation which is not provide with the delivery … I haven’t being able to find someone to install it …

Quality Control issues!

I ordered two of these shelves on July 2, 2021. I understand that shipping everywhere is less than satisfactory, so my issue is not with the long delay to receive the products. I received the two shelves on September 21, 2021. While the box looked in near perfect condition, as I watched the carrier unpackage the first shelf, carefully removing large styrofoam corner bumpers and other packing material, he carrier pointed out that several of the shelves had damaged corners. This could not have occurred during shipping, because the box condition as well as the packing material would not support the damage being a carrier issue. The shelves were obviously packed to ship in the damaged condition. I refused delivery on this shelf and the carrier took it with them. The second shelf was carefully inspected and appeared to be in good condition. The carrier and I checked the hardware included against the assembly instructions to be sure all the alpha-labeled packages containing hardware were included, and they were. However, I did not count the parts in each alpha-labeled package, and I am short 3 of the smaller connecting rods that join the shelves together. I am almost at week 3 of reporting this discrepancy, and have spoken with four customer service reps trying to get the missing parts, and still no luck. Again, QUALITY CONTROL IS LACKING with Modloft. And customer service is sorely lacking as well. I will not order from this company again.

Great statement piece but not so great experience.

I purchased this shelf to be a focal display in my living room. It’s simple and refine. The design itself is a 5-star, no questions, the lower rating however is from my experience. The delivery guys arrived tired, no fault of their own. The instructions were meager. They assembled the middle shelf upside down— the metal hinge was on the bottom and not the top. They didn’t use any of the washers and stripped all the screws so the shelf was not able to be corrected. On top of it all, I purchased it open box, so the wall mount bracket was already inserted into the shelf and was bent— which means it was not able to be mounted. I’m going into my second week with the shelf laying on its side in my living room. Customer service has been very responsive, I’m confident it will get resolved, but I’m just not sure when. I would buy again, but probably not open box and will assembly myself.

Shelving came looking just as good as it does in the pictures, beautiful and very high quality. HOWEVER the provided anchors are crap so be sure to use your own. I should've known when I took them out the bag but I tried them anyways; my shelving is sagging now but shouldn't be hard to finesse. The visual impact is very different when the shelves arent level so getting the bracket right is key
