Silky smooth rug
I did a lot of research before buying this rug because I couldn't figure out what kind of rug material I wanted. I had a rug that I loved that was very thin and smooth and silky, but when I ordered another that I thought looked like that it was very rough and thick and cheap looking. I finally discovered that I wanted a viscose rug, and ordered this one. Apparently viscose rugs aren't great for durability, but since this is for my formal living room I think it will be fine. The only reason that it's not 5 stars is that it's a leeeetle more brown than I thought it would be -- I was looking for more of a silvery-gray.
Beautiful but delicate
Very pretty rug. It is one of the only rugs I could find that was cream and brown as opposed to grey. It doesn't show lint or hair. I have a very active, medium sized dog who runs back and forth and plays tug-of-war across the rug and it has stood up to his nails. Update: I have now had this rug about two years. The fringe has started to come undone and spot cleaning it is nearly impossible. I will say that dirt doesn't cling to this fabric though, which is nice. If you try to spot clean this fabric, it hardens and looks odd afterward.
Pleasantly surprised, a little thin though!
First, this was delivered SO quickly. I couldn't believe it was on my doorstep literally 2 days after I ordered. I got this on super sale so figured it was worth it even if we didn't love it. I was very pleasantly surprised. It's soft, looks great, like the pictures (maybe a little lighter than I had thought, but really pretty still). The only thing is it's VERY thin so depending where you put it, you may just want to consider that. We don't have a mat underneath it yet, but we are planning on it just hoping that it'll add a litter extra softness to it. I would still recommend especially for the price we got it for!
Heirloom High End Look at an Affordable Price-
I cannot say enough good things about this rug. It looks fantastic. It has the appearance of a very fine silk rug without the high cost. I ordered 2 of these rugs. One in the largest ~10x 12’ size and second the next size down. One is in my living room and the other is in my master bedroom. The ivory looks fantastic when paired with dark hardwood floors. The design/ pattern in the rug is best suited to a classic or traditional interior design. The color pallet is a neutral ivory, beige, soft blue and silver. The best thing about this rug is the sheen. I was looking for this type of “glow” or sheen and had tried several higher-cost rugs before I purchased the Gracewood rug from Overstock. Because of the material, this type of rug will have more sheen or reflective “glow” based upon the angle you look at it from. Therefore, if you stand on one side of a room, the rug will be more reflective verses standing on the other side of the room. This also changes the color values. So, the colors may be more vibrant or darker from the left side of a room, and more muted from the right side. This created a problem with every OTHER rug I had tried. They would look great from one angle, but appear too dark or too vibrant from the other side of the room. I was about to give up on the idea of a shinny rug. Then I tried the Gracewood. It is PERFECT from every angle. The sheen is still greater from one side than the other, but the color pallet and pattern look terrific either way. I highly recommend this rug for a dining room, formal living room or bedroom. It is very thin, so dining chairs, and furniture (like a bed placed over the middle of it) will not sink into a high pile and look awkward or be difficult to move. I do not recommend this rug for informal spaces, high traffic areas or those with a lot of pets and children. It not only looks like silk, but requires some special care due to the material. It is very thin, so when you vacuum, you need to lower the suction setting on your vacuum or it will lift it off the floor. You should also vacuum with your beater-bar or sweeper bar turned off, as you would on a hardwood floor. The rug did shed a bit when I first opened it, but a few quick turns with the vacuum had it good to go. I give this rug 5 stars for price, look, and quality. It is not an heirloom rug nor is it priced that way. I think you can enjoy it and get the look of a very fine heirloom rug cheaply enough to replace it when it wears out…. And that total works for me!

This rug is very soft and has a very low nap. The rug itself is beautiful - much better than the pictures. However, there are some things I wish I had known before I purchased it. Firstly, you will not be vacuuming this rug with a strong vacuum. The rug is fairly thin and light and my Dyson picks it up and completely suctions to it and must be shut off for you to move it. I have to let the Roomba vacuum it. Second, the rug was covered in shedded rug fibers when I got it. It was unbeLIEVable how much loose material was on it. My son decided to test the rug comfort out and rolled around on it for a few minutes. When he got up, he was covered in lint from the carpet. It looked like he'd walked through a snow storm. I've had the rug for more than a week now and it is still shedding worse than my dog and 2 cats combined - although it has improved. The fringe is the worst culprit and I even considered removing it. It is already loose in several spots and I had to pull it tight again. The rug had a mild odor when I received it, but that dissipated within a few hours of opening. As I mentioned, it is pretty thin. I purchased a 3/8" felt pad for underneath it and that helps. I really love it, but if I had it to do over again, I would pick something else that was just as pretty but required less maintenance. UPDATE 3/3/2019 - It has been several months now and, now that I have had the opportunity to live with this rug, I thought I would add more. I used carpet tape (a good brand that does not leave any adhesive on the floor if you pull it up after 6 months or a year) to secure the padding to the rug and the rug to the floor. The rug does move around a lot, but all area rugs do unless they are secured with tape or furniture. What I have discovered that I REALLY like about this rug is the pattern. I really like that I can have a light colored rug and, even if it gets a little dirty, you can't really tell because of the way the pattern is faded. The dirt looks like it's part of the pattern.
I was very nervous about ordering this rug. Prior to ordering it, I had ordered another "ivory" rug from a very popular rug maker that name starts with a "S". That rug was ok, but not what I wanted. It was suppose to be an ivory (mix of ivory and silver) distressed rug, but looked more black and white. It did look nice, but not what i knew in my head i wanted. I couldnt believe how hard it is to find a true ivory rug with beige hues. It was also too big. Overstock was great and let me return it for free. I wanted a true distressed neutral rug with hues of beige and creams. Then I found this rug! From the pictures, it was exactly what I wanted, but I was nervous because pictures can be deceiving. But the rug arrived and looked exactly like the picture. The quality seems great. It is a thin rug, but thats what I wanted and its not paper thin. The pattern is very subtle, but there. The fibers were already laying a certain direction, and the rug looked even lighter and closer to the picture. But I took a broom and swept it the other direction and the colors and pattern came out just a little more, still leaving the distressed look. I love the fridge edges. They add a little more class to an already classy rug. One end of the rug was curled when I first unrolled it. I evened the rug out and placed my chair legs on the very edges of the rug to hold it down. The next morning, the rug was laying flat on its on. I did not get a rug pad, and tested this rug for slipping. It does not move. I do have it under my dining table and chairs, so not sure how it would perform in another area with no furniture on it. Thats all I can think to tell you about this rug. It is BEAUTIFUL and at this price, you cant beat it. I just moved, so Im decorating a new house. Im thinking about doing youtube tutorials for each room. I havent decided, but ive added a picture here so you could see the rug in my dining area. The room is not finished. I will be adding accessories to the dining table and buffet table, and maybe a plant in the corner, but just wanted to share an image with you guys to give you an idea. I cant believe in this day and age, more people arent adding images.

This rug is absolutely beautiful. I've read about the drawbacks of viscose, since it's not a durable material. For the beauty and price of this rug though, we don't mind replacing it down the line if need be. It has the look of silk and such a beautiful traditional pattern, faded to look vintage. I understand why some are saying it's white; the pattern looks quite different from different angles. So in one direction it appears to be a shimmering white and light silver, and from the other direction there is a more distinct floral pattern in varying shades of grey and even taupe. As others have noted, it's very thin. Not an issue for me as this is the look I prefer but it certainly isn't plush. In any case I think it's lovely and well represented in the photos.
