Bell %26 Howell Solar Light

This light is terrific! We installed one on the side of our house after someone either tried to steal our 1996 Mustang (they left the door wide open) or our radio. The light was easy to install, is very bright, and has a flashing red light, that would make a criminal think that it has a camera that's recording them! We liked the light so much we bought another one and installed it at the top of our shed in the back yard.

These two solar powered lights arrived as expected. The instructions and the installation was quick and easy. As many others have mentioned, these lights give off a tremendous amount of light. The main center light covers a large section. The two side lights add plenty of light complimenting the center light. These are activated by motion as described. They stay on from 30 to 45 seconds, and light up again if motion is detected. I am well pleased with the quality of these lights and recommend them. I hope this review helps. I try to research independent reviews that are not solicited or are part of a promotion. This is an honest assessment of my findings.

Batteries last less than 100 charges

I purchased 3 units and at first they worked well to light a path. However the first unit died after a month and then the second and the third. The batteries inside are extremely cheap and low density compared to other brands. The twin pair of odd 2.5”x3/4” size and no easy way of replacement means the units are trash. Do not buy this product.

I got it to be able to see my dogs at night. They would bark every morning around 4 so I wanted to know what they were barking at. Its a great light except for the fact the light lasts like 10 seconds then turns off. Like um that doesnt help much. Then I was trying to put a dog stake in the ground yeah I would turn it twice barely get it into the ground and the light would leave me in darkness. Id have to let go of the stake, id come outta the hole, and wave my arms for it to come back on. Patience lost. Other than the light timing its a perfect light.

Very dim lighting

This product was very easy to install, but I was extremely disappointed in the amount of light it puts out. Very dim and shadowy, even when standing right in front of it. If you're looking for a product that will dimly light up a walkway or some such, this might be a good fit for you. I was looking for a light that will help me spot snakes in the dark, and this just isn't going to do it.

Great product with considerations

Easy to install and the light is bright enough for a small area that you want to add some security. My take aways: 1. Make sure the solar panel is getting as much sun as possible. I had to remount because the edge of the roof of my garage was causing a shady spot not optimizing the amount of sunlight needed to power the light. I moved the light up higher to get maximum sunlight, and the problem was solved. 2. Motion sensor is not highly sensitive, so if you do mount it high, just make sure you angle the fixture down so motion can be picked up. 3.

Bright lights

I have had these for a couple of years. I started out with two and I have added several more. I started using them in the back yard. I then put one on either side of the front door, so I don't have to leave the porch light on. I tried bug light bulbs but bugs still hang around the light. These solve that problem. I would like them to stay on just a bit longer.I even put one on the enclosed back porch. I put the light in the window during the day and it works at night!

So far no complaints. It works as described. And was easy to put together (coming from someone who cannot put anything together! ) I have it in my planter to scare away the stray cats that keep harassing my kitties in the back window and I was really surprised how bright this light was (pleasantly surprised!). 10/10 would recommend. I plan on purchasing more.

Not dependable

Great for a few months then nothing. Best concept of solar light, if only it would work for only a few months. Really loved them for a SHORT period of time, but now one stopped working completely and the other is not dependable. SOLAR IS JUNK SCIENCE from what I see in these things. Nice concept that does not work most of the time.

Lousy Mount

The swivel mount on this light cannot hold the light in place. I tightened it as per instructions as hard as I could by hand and it would just flop down and point at the ground. I used a pair of channel locks to the point I was fearful of either breaking or stripping the nut and it would just flop down and point at the ground. I ended up injecting caulking into the swivel, propped and supported the light in place and it is now drying. Based upon other 1-star reviews, I hope that when it gets dark the light works and it doesn't just flop down and point at the ground.

Okay product

Our old motion sensor light got taken out when the recent accumulated snow on our roof decided to fall. This light is bright. However, there isn't a setting for the length of time you want the light to stay on once activated, so it goes off rather quickly. I'm constantly having to trigger it while taking my dogs out at night. It also doesn't always detect movement from our pets or even us when walking by. We will probably be replacing this with the same light/brand that was taken out by our snowmageddon.

Great product.

I installed one of these at my parents house. After having had my car broken into twice in a short span of time, during an overnight stay at their house. I decided to install one of these. To deter thieves. Lucky it hasn’t happened again. The light it very powerful. Its motion sensor is pretty sensitive. I was skeptical as my dad installed it super high off the ground. I thought there was no way it would work at that distance. But it does and i find it super helpful for those early morning/late night darkness! I love it so much I’m going to install 2 of them at my own house, in the front and back!

Bionic Floodlight Max

I purchased this for my backyard because someone or something was in my yard at night. I wanted the ability to have the motion sensor light that was solar powered. Light works really well. The only reason for the 4 rating is that the stake is not very solid and moves if bumped or if really windy. A more stable and study stake would make this the perfect floodlight for my home.

Excellent lighting coverage throughout our long driveway, pathways, backyard, and front yard wherever they are needed. The Bell and Howell Bionic floodlight is the answer to all our needs. We have placed seven (7) around areas our our property. They help us with knowing if animals are in our open backyard. However, our biggest satisfaction is known we can depend on them for security and safety. I would highly recommend these great floodlights to our friends and family. In fact several neighbors are using them. These Bionic floods are a fantastic product no matter what the weather we occur. We don't have to be concerned with batteries nor bulbs to change. The three directional help spread the coverage you need. Everyone one of our 7 floodlights have worked without any problems. We will be purchasing more because of our long driveways of over a quarter of mile.

Sent Repackaged set of Floodlights instead of New

Purchased two of these Floodlights from Walmart on 12/3/22. since Spring is almost here went to set them up in yard. One worked. When I opened the second one, parts were missing. It was clear Walmart had sent me a repackaged light set. I order new floodlights and was very disappointed Walmart sent me a previously used set. I contacted Walmart but they wouldn't replace or refund since it was over 90 days. To me that shouldn't matter if they didn't send me a new set of lights in the first place.
