thin metal, bend easily in minor wind

We have used this umbrella three times. I ordered the water filled base wedges to keep it secured and we put it away completely during high wind or storms. However, my husband was using it yesterday when a small gust of wind blew and bent the umbrella arm like a crushed soda can. It is completely unusable now and I am incredibly disappointed.

Save your money

This was beautiful, but after two weeks the umbrella disconnected from the stand and is now swinging by a cord. Not worth the money spent

Broken within 3 months

This umbrella is big and beautiful…but one day while sitting underneath it, it closed over my head. Turns out the string that pulls it up and down snapped. I’m pretty disappointed as I only got it the beginning of the summer.

Have you watched the YouTube film "Story of stuff"?... The company who makes these umbrellas makes them to last 3 months. Here's the punch line: THEY ONLY OFFER A 60 DAY WARRANTY.

Don't like

Did not know a little breeze was going to push the stand by almost a foot when the weights are full of water. I wish it was a standstill umbrella.

Didn’t last

I bought two of these a couple years ago for my new patio. I thought the price was good was worried about the quality, was very happy with it from the start then the crank started to become difficult to crank eventually broke. Not even two years old and was only put outside on the stand on weekends and nice days. Money is tight and mind you I have two so I roll the dice and buy another in hopes it’s won’t happen again.

Pretty and sturdy so far but can't be turned

I bought two of these pretty umbrellas. The lights are a cute touch. Not very bright. The mechanism to open and close is a little difficult to learn for other people and it needs to be away from the deck railing or the arm will smash it coming down. Once open they seem very sturdy. The only downside is they can't be put into a base because they come with their own built in x shaped base that is screwed to the deck. I didn't want to ruin my deck so I used zip ties. But either way you can't turn or move them so that's why I took off a star.

Great overall!

Wonderful product. Easy to set up. Only knock is the solar lights stopped working after a day. I checked connection and still no luck. But overall a solid, well-made product.

Love it

We love this umbrella, especially when we got the lights to work. It's well made, material feels and looks great. Top heavy, so you do need to buy the weights and add them to your base. Bought 4 weights filled then with water and it works great. We have had lots of heat and wind at night so far so good. We were having issue's getting the lights going and after contacting customer service, they responded the following day with instructions on what to check. With the lights on it looks even better, this was definitely a great buy. We have only had it set up for a week now and today we got the lights to work with the help off customer service. Umbrella is a very good size, didn't know it was going to be this big. But I'm glad it is, living in the California desert with temps at 123 degrees this umbrella will provide plenty of shade and a cooler concrete when stepping out off the pool. Tried adding pictures, but it's saying the file is to big don't know why. But it is a very beautiful umbrella, love it.

BEST CHOICE CORPORATE came through for me

"The heavy-duty frame includes a durable steel pole to withstand many seasons" so the product details claim. Bought late August 2023 and used it for about 6 weeks. Put it up for this season we noted a break in the frame. Home Deport referred me to Best Choice Products. Not very helpful. Finally, elevated it to the Corporate Escalations team, I assumed that would be the end of it, but HOLY MOLY the next day I got an email that a replacement umbrella was be processed.

Internal cable broke after 1 year

I do not open and close the umbrella frequently (it mainly stays open). But after about a year, the cable that provides the tension to keep the umbrella open snapped. I was able to fix it (because I'm very handy) by running some paracord through the tubing. But there is a major design flaw here. The cable should have been made out of tougher nylon rope or stainless steel instead of material that deteriorated in a normal outdoor environment. Other than the cable snapping, I'm happy with the umbrella. It does provide a lot of shade and is able to pivot in the wind to prevent toppling over.

Well made. I am very pleased with this purchase, very sturdy, the color is deep and rich. I’ve seen similar products for a few hundred more. I’d buy this umbrella again.

I'm so glad I bought this solar umbrella, it's bigger than I expected. I love it, heavy duty, color is a dark blue. You do need to purchase some umbrella weights, cause it's top heavy. Other than that it's a beautiful umbrella, that will come in handy when I'm grilling..

A Good Bang for the Buck

Feels very durable and strong. It was easy to set up. Definitely needs a base for stability. I’ve had it for a week, at the time of this review. I’m very pleased with it.
