It looks good, but does not work for me
I bought this cup expecting the internal geometry to follow the external contour, so I can swirl the drink. The internal has vertical side wall and flat bottom, making the external design pointless.
Fellow Joey Mug
Highly satisfied, The Joey cups perform as advertised. These double sided mugs do a great job of keeping coffee warm for longer. And they look good too!
Poor Quality Control
The mug itself it large, solid, and hefty. It does a good job insulating. However, there seems to be some issues with quality control from Fellow on these. The base of the mug is uneven, causing a fair sized gap between the base and the ceramic. This creates a strange flex in the base. Additionally, water can get stuck in here and I imagine it will effect the adhesive and cause long term issues.
Death grip required
Perhaps like others, I love this mug! Lattes have never looked so good! The reason for only 4 stars is that one must be very deliberate when drinking, to hold the mug with two hands or a one handed death grip. The lack of handle gives a very sleek look but adds a level of anxiety when drinking from it. Still, the insulation keeps your drink warm too the last drop.
Solid Cup
Okay, let me say this when filled this is a very stout cup, read a wee heavy. It is solid and well made. My drinks stay hot and this is a very stable cup. I would love a 12 or 16 ounce version of this mug, yep it would be very very stout then, but dang I do like this mug.
Great mug. Pre-heat with boiling water = AWESEOME SYSTEM
Great choice for keeping your coffee hot/warm WITHOUT stainless steel and without having to repeatedly microwave it if you get interrupted. NOTA BENE: if, a few minutes before your coffee is ready, you fill the Joey mug with some boiling water, then cover it for a few minutes, you'll heat up the considerable thermal mass of the mug. Then dump the water and pour in your coffee. Conversely, if you do not pre-heat the Joey this way, it's considerable thermal mass will absorb that heat from your coffee.
Big Jo (12oz) too Big Size for my little hands

Good, but...
It's a really nice looking mug and the double walled design does keep the coffee warmer than a regular mug albeit not for long. The downside is it's large - I'm 5'-11" and 175 pounds and have to use both hands to pick it up. I hand wash my coffee gear so hand washing is no issue for me; I seem to recall seeing on the box that it is not supposed to be submerged in water which, if true, is silly but there is no mention of not submerging it on Fellow's website; I have submerged it with no apparent harm. I tried Bartender's Friend on the very bottom of the base to see if it would make the copper shine, it scratched the finish so beware of such cleaners. I'm lukewarm to this mug: I like the appearance a lot but a two-handed mug is a nuisance to drink from. I don't regret buying it and will use it in rotation, it works well with the Hario Switch, but not as often as my other cups and mugs. I got a 14 oz. Ember Mug2 as a gift and that's my go-to right now.
Disappointing Cons
Pros: well constructed, handsome design.
Fantastic Mug
Either Michael has small hands or he just doesn't like the mug. I have no issue holding it and I am 5'11". It is also better at keeping it warm than a regular mug. Not as good at keeping it warm as a Yeti mug, but I don't take a long time to drink my latte's and I am just not a fan of Yeti mugs. Everyone is different and likes different mugs, but my review of it is I love it and am considering ordering another one. Cheers!
They’re beautiful! But one, in
They’re beautiful! But one, in a set of 2, arrived broken. Happily, when contacted Fellow, they very quickly sent a replacement with no hassle at all. The one star is because these things are ENORMOUS. My husband can use them, but he’s 6’2” and has huge hands. I can’t even pick one up with one hand. He would probably give them 4 stars, but there should be a warning that these are only for giants. (Overall we LOVE this brand including our coffee grinder, kettle, pour over drip brew thing, and insulated glass cups. I’d give all of those items 5 stars.)
Heavy and Handsome
Everyone knows the Fellow designers know how to make everyday items that look and feel like small works of art. These cups are no exception. They have a great weight to them, the surfaces are smooth and tactile with a modern and classic look.
I bought the Joey and
I bought the Joey and the Monty latte mugs. They are excellent at keeping things cold, but I was disappointed they don’t hold the heat very well. No better than an average mug.
beautiful elegance in subtle style
These coffee mugs are absolutely divine! The matte black ceramic is super elegant while unobtrusive at the same time.
A slight disappointment
While this cup is nice, it was not nearly as transformative to my coffee experience, as I had hoped it would be, based on my use of the Stagg EKG. First of all, the weighting of the heavy copper bottom makes this feel quite different than a standard coffee cup. Additionally, the mouth is smaller than an aeropress. While this could be overlooked, the biggest problem is that it doesn't reasonably fit 8oz, as advertised. I can generally only squeeze 185-190 grams (equal to milliliters) into the Joey, as opposed to the 227 that it is supposed to hold.
Big honkin dandy
This is a really nice looking, solid coffee mug-ish. I don't call it a mug because it lacks a handle. But fear not, you won't burn your salad fingers because it's double-walled. It's definitely a conversation starter..just be careful drinking from it after eating greasy finger food, or you'll likely be out over 40 dollars after it crashes to the floor. It's quite slippery! It might work better as a fancy flower pot...
