Weighty, quality
A big and strong desk / computer monitor illumination light.Bulky but very well made and manoeuvrable. Much better than simply a ‘light bar', in my opinion.Light quality is great. Easy on the eyes. Consistent little gating across the illuminated area too.
Best desk light I have ever owned
This is a really fantastic desk lamp. The build quality is excellent. The base is solid and heavy. The lamp adjusts easily and stays in place. The lamp supports variable intensity, three colour temperatures (5000K, 4000K and 2700K) and a variety of clever modes for automatic adjustments. It is hands down the most sophisticated desk lamp I have ever seen. The included power supply has an ETL certification which is a very good thing.Assembly takes about a minute. A pair of included machine bolts need to be inserted from the bottom of the base and tightened using an included hex wrench. Connect the power supply, plug it in and you are ready to go.The only downside to the lamp is the price, listed at $800 at the time of this review. As great as the build and features are, the price is beyond reasonable. That said I didn't remove a star because I expect that anyone ordering the lamp is able to make their own decision as to whether they feel like they are getting the appropriate value.
Amazing light
I got this lamp for my office desk and couldn't be happier.Pros: Super stable and big. Looks and feels really expensive. Putting it together is quick and easy and the different light modes are great. Touch controls are nice.Cons: The price is a little crazy at $270.Item reviewed: Honeywell LED Desk Lamp Modern - H9 Sunturalux™ Eye Caring Desk Light, 18W 1000LM Dimmable Table Lamp with 3 Color Modes, LED Adjustable Desk Lamps for Home Office College Dorm Room
High-quality LED desk lamp
This is a very nice high quality LED lamp. The light is super soft and natural. It is easy to switch between working mode and reading mode, and you can adjust the brightness easily accordingly to your personal preference. Great product.
Superb desk lamp, but very pricey.
When the Honeywell LED Desk Lamp arrived I picked up the box and wondered what I had ordered, it was heavy. The weight is the base, there is no way the lamp is moving in use no matter what position you have it set to. The design is unusual, very angular, almost 1970s style so not to everyone's taste but it certainly performs well. It gives out a good even light and has made a big difference to my desk area when working on my laptop. There are simple touch button settings; work (cool white), reading (daylight white) and night (warm white) light settings - note those are my descriptions, the manual just states brightness in K, and you can control brightness for each colour. There is also a movement sensor to auto switch off but I feel the 15 minute timing is too long. Overall I am pleased with the lamp, it is an outstanding performer at lighting your workspace, but I fail to see how it justifies a £299.99 price tag and have dropped a star for this reason.
I was very impressed with this lamp; feels like state-of-the-art to me
I work from home and have been working to redecorate my office. I came across this desk lamp and thought it would look great in my office.I had high expectations for this product since it is from Honeywell. In my experience, their products have been great. I was not disappointed - I really like this lamp. It was very easy for me to assemble, and only required two screws to be screwed into the base of the lamp. The screws and allen wrench were included. No other assembly was required beyond that. The instructions were in plain English and easy for me to understand. I was easily able to figure out how to assemble the lamp and how to use the various features. The base of the lamp is very heavy, which I think is good because it will prevent the lamp from sliding or being moved easily. The material of the lamp seemed of great quality and I did not find any obvious defects or anything like that. The lamp truly feels like it is state-of-the-art and has so many cool features. It can be programmed to adjust the brightness automatically, sense movement, etc. I like how easily I can adjust the height or direction of the light. It looks great on my desk.I really like this lamp a lot and have zero complaints.
Premium in all aspects butt he price is a joke
this lamp's no joke – it's massive, solid, and means business. Setting it up's a breeze, just two screws and plug it in. Light quality? Spot on. You get warm, cool, and everything in between, plus a sensor to turn it on/off as you come and go. The base is hefty (and I mean it is really hefty for a lamp), so no wobbling here, but the arm could be a bit sturdier.Though it's a beauty and does its job brilliantly, the current price of £299.99 will raise your eyebrows. Also the arms are very stiff and very difficult to adjust especially in small tight spaces.Still, it's a top pick for serious desk space and executive setups. The material's top-notch, and Honeywell's a name you can trust for reliability. But yeah, dust and fingerprints love the shiny parts, and the price is a shocker.Overall, it's a swanky lamp that'll probably outlast the rest of your gear!
It works well, quality. I guess quality comes at a price?
Let's start with the two negatives. Firstly energy rating, an F is pretty low. Then the other huge negative, that heavy price of just under three hundred quid. Coming from a photography background, I appreciate great lighting. Just as others appreciate a great office chair, or the perfect fountain pen. No escaping it, at this cost I can't help but feel it's aimed more at employees asking their company to buy it for them. But is it good? Oh yeah, it's great. The base is heavy, solid metal and this isn't getting knocked over my accident. Moving the arm around in a heavy manner doesn't move the base. The construction is great too, with no cheap plastics, and metal used when possible. Joints are smooth when used. The lighting quality is superb and so many options, it was a little bit overwhelming at first. The only assembly needed is two screws. Then you're ready to go.All those touch sensitive buttons, but it really is simple. The middle button is simply on and off. Moving from left to right, the next two buttons are for brightness. The third symbol that looks like a monitor is 'Work mode', this simple turns the lamp to daylight mode of 5000k. A wonderfully, natural, crisp light. I find this amazing for drawing, and other artistic pursuits. The fourth button, the book icon, is 'Reading mode'. This brings the light temperature down to 4000k. This may look like a little yellow if you have come from 'Work mode' but it adds warmth. It does seem to be very easy on the eyes. Easy to read from Kindle or physical book. It takes seconds to adjust to the yellow tint, it soon feels very natural within seconds. Now some cleaver stuff, the symbol to the right of the on/off button is 'Sensing mode'. Leaving this on, the light will detect movement. It will then turn on or off depending on someone being present. You need to be in front of the light for about 2 or 3 seconds, and on it comes. About 15 minutes after leaving, it will turn the light off. Shame these timings can't be adjusted, but it works well.More clever stuff, and I love this mode. The eye button is 'Auto dimming mode' and this works a treat. It measures the light around and adjusts accordingly. It seems to adjust so gradually you don't notice it. Using the light from early morning (4am) until later (Around 7am) and then standing back. The light had clearly dimmed hugely from when I first turned it on.The second to last button is a timer. I have not played with this. It gives you around 45 minutes until the light turns off. Before turning off, it does dim to its lowest brightness to inform you it's about to turn off. The 45 minute time can't be adjusted.Last you have 'Night mode', and this turns the light about 2700k which gives off a comforting, warm, yellow, almost orange like light. My eyes took seconds to adjust. It felt relaxing, and natural to work in this light at night.Overall, this is a great light, I love it. But that price tag is steep. One star off for the cost, sadly. I do adore this desk light.
I honestly wish I could just say Ditto to the review before me, but alas I can not. 5/5 Absolutely
My first thoughts upon seeing this desk lamp on Amazon for $260 was "Why the heck would someone pay $260 for a desk lamp?" but this lamp is absolutely stellar in every way.Pro:Range of MotionEye-caring LED lighting across the lampBeautiful Brightness and DimmingMotion detection to turn on when you're in the area and off when you're notWeight of BaseStabilityRight flex pointsCon: Yes I know I said stability in the Pros but...Stability (I'll explain in a moment)Location of button controls (Which you probably won't use too often)So to start with, this Desk lamp is Executive Attorney Office Desk quality.Stability is great if you're not touching it however does suffer a bit when you're touching the touch sensitive buttons on the light head. But it doesn't tip or fall over for me when I do and that's a definite positive in my book.Location of buttons: I kinda wish there was a control switch I could mount under my desk or something, but it's not mandatory, just something you'll have to get used to. Most desk lamps similar to this have the same thing. The lighting is smooth and consistent across every LED Bead as well as eye-caring light for every mode and setting. It really puts less eye strain on me to use this over my lappy top. (i.e. Laptop if I'm not trying to be funny here but ya'all know me by now so you know I have to at least "try" to be funny in my reviews. It's just who I am.This light is spectacular. But who am I? I'm just a gamer that generally likes to play games in dark rooms with a Bandit of a Husky who likes to wreak havoc (and surprisingly loves bath time), and have a gaming laptop so this light helps put my eyes at ease when playing in a darker room with RGB all around while not taking away the effects of all the RGB going off around me.$260? High Price. Worth it if you're an executive attorney at a law firm especially with all the features or if you can afford it. I'm gonna give it 5 stars for what it is sand it's standout features, BUT if you're on a bit more of a budget (This is nearly half of a week's income for me), You can find suitable desk lamps for quite a bit cheaper. But will they be to this standard of quality? I can't tell you that. What I can tell you is that although this light is pricey, it's standout features make it a 5/5
Love this
This was bigger in real life than I imagined it. The base could be used for bicep curls, it's got some serious weight to it!My setup is 2x 27 inch raised monitors with a macbook on the desk. As winter approaches I wanted better light whilst working - it's fine during the summer. This thing is super cool! It's able to sit on the desk, behind the monitor holder and extend over the monitors to shine down and give me a really clear view of everything in front of me. I can actually tell my eyes feel less strained already.Quick touch settings on the lighton/off button.Computer/monitor button (5000k colour temp).Reading button (400-k colour temp).Brightness up and down buttons.Movement sensor, so if no movement detected after 15 minutes, it turns off - and turns back on again when it senses movement.Automatic dimming, where it adjusts the brightness according to the reflected light on the desktop. Delay light off. Finally, night light (2700k colour temp). With the sensing mode on, you can manually press the off button to forget the 15 minute delay, and it will still turn on automatically when you come back. This is a very high quality light! Loving it!
Good lamp
Talk about heavy duty !!!!!!I've used other Honeywell products and have always found them to be high-quality and dependable. The materials are very solid, and very high quality. The listing states they are aluminum alloy and ABS, and the craftsmanship certainly bears it out.I do love the color gamut that it emits. Its light gamut is the most natural of all the lamps I've ever had, and it certainly helps with eye strain. The light sensor mode is the one I use the most. It turns on once I come near it, then switches off after a bit. That makes it very practical. The lamp head is also adjustable, which works well as I'm using it near a monitor or when I use my laptop. The price at $ 799.99 though is completely unrealistic. Even the Honeywell sites lists it at $350 once converted to CAD. Perhaps there's a typo ?If/when the price comes down, I would very much recommend it as its a great lamp and I intend to keep using it.
Great quality Lamp
The base is very heavy so there wont be any issue with tipping no matter what position you have it. The touch controls are easy to use. Brightness controls, temperature controls, timer, night light, auto dimming, and the really cool sensing mode. Really nice light that is not blinding but puts off an amazing amount of light. Totally adjustable head and arms really makes it so you can adjust it to the perfect way for you. I have been using this in the living room on a center table between the chairs and has been absolutely perfect. This is a high quality well made desk lamp with some great features. Would highly recommend!
Excellent lamp, but high price
Honeywell are a well known and established brand, and I was in the market for a new desk lamp, so I was keen to try this.Firstly, this isn't your ordinary desk lamp - and you tell that by the packaging. It's well boxed and sturdily packaged to protect the lamp.My first impression was that this was a high-quality lamp - the base is very heavy and sturdy, and the stand is well-made and adjustable for height and also the angle of the lamp head. But I didn't love it. The design is very angular and modern. The lamp head is wider than I thought it would be. Having said that after a short time, I'vee got used to the look, and now see it as stylish and neat.Easy to assemble - just a couple of screws at the bottom to connect the base and the stand, with Allen key provided. With several choices on brightness and shade - from clinically bright white to warm reading light to soft night light, it was easy to find the best one for me.It has a sensor so it will switch itself off after 15 mins if this setting is chosen, and switch back on when it detects movement. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it—especially because this is a quality lamp that will probably last me for the rest of my lifetime. It now sits on a small table behind my reading chair and has replaced a "mother and child" floor lamp that we had previously. It's lost a star because of it's high price. I know it's quality, and it looks quality and it's a good brand - but in my opinion it is still overpriced.
BIG, BEAUTIFUL, AND SOPHISTICATED
This is an amazing desk lamp. It's not like any desk lamp I've ever owned before. First off, it's notably big and heavy—in a good way. I measured it at two feet wide, and it weighed almost eight pounds! Most of the weight actually comes from the base plate, which needs that mass in order to keep the whole thing stable. I weighed the base at five pounds seven ounces by itself. Wow!THE PLUSES:Set-up was super simple—two screws, plug in a cord, and you're done. The available cool and warm colors of light are quite pleasing—spot on. Adjustment is easy through a very useful brightness range. The illumination is soft and even. The control buttons are easy to use. Overall, the light quality is stellar. The optional sensing mode is a great feature: it turns on when you come into close range, and turns off after you leave.THE IFS, ANDS, OR MAYBES:The shiny plastic top of the base looks good, but it does collect fingerprints and dust like a fiend. The buttons are on the light head. Although the lamp arm sits solidly, it is not completely rigid. When I push the buttons it bounces around a bit. Not a huge deal, and I don't use the buttons that much, but I wish it felt like a rock. I could not find any way to adjust this. The instruction manual, while well written, is printed small with tiny type.If you're looking for a small lamp for light duty or to deploy in crowded environs, this is not the lamp for you. If you are looking for something inexpensive…not for you. But if you are looking for a wonderfully high quality lamp for an executive desk, and if you don't mind shelling out a wallet full of cash (it was going for two hundred and sixty dollars when I grabbed mine), then this baby is a good choice. It is not without shortcomings, but it is big, beautiful, and sophisticated. I really like it.
