ABUS 78KC/50 Combination Padlock Anti Shim Blue 78KC50NKA411

This is the second of this brand of combination lock I have bought. The first one for my daughter at high school. So far, hers has been used for 3 years straight, and been unlocked and locked several times a day through the whole school year. It has never missed a beat. I have heard cheaper brands of this design, have faults and don't work 100% all the time. I have bought this lock, the same brand, for my son, who is starting high school, to use on his locker, to see him out through the years ahead.

Worth the purchase

Sturdy and is an excellent design for school lockers.

Ich hatte schon vor 50 Jahren ein solches Schloss, das mir aber abhanden gekommen war. Jetzt habe ich wieder so eines.

Good lock to deter thieves

This lock worked exactly as expected. Easy to use. Needs no key. Deters casual theft. I have used them for years. However it is easy for those who look at youtube to find out how to open the lock.

Couldnt find the over ride key for sale anywhere.

Not being able to purchase the override key, makes the claim of the Key override function mute. I might just clamp this to the railings of a bridge somewhere and get one that comes with a key, for half the price.

Good brand but need to be a part time safe cracker to remember how many clockwise and anticlockwise rotations to operate the lock - so not particularly user friendly for older people like me.
