A thankful family member

I bought this light for a family member who is losing her vision. The light provides the needed illumination to complete tasks around her house when it is dark. She is thrilled that she now sees better in dimly lit areas of her home.

Nice light

This is a lightweight bright light. I got it because it uses batteries and I’ll be using it where I wouldn’t be able to plug in a light.

Very bright!

I bought this lamp to help light up face for virtual meetings. I love that it is cordless, as I do not need more cords. It also does have the right amount of brightness, I just wish it was taller in height, is the only reason, I took off a star.

Great reading light that you don't need to plug in

Quality and function is great! My daughter used it in law school to carve out a study nook in a place without outlets. Great quality of light for long hours of reading. Would buy again.

I have bought this lamp for years...

This lamp has gotten better over the years. I bought my first one more than 5 years ago and either from breaking it myself or giving it away to envious friends I've probably have bought about 6. This latest version is better built and the hinges are better engineered. Cheers!

Nice portable light

Nice portable lamp I am using for my color pencil work. Liked it so well bought one for a friend who has macular degeneration. Only drawback, wish it came packaged with the adapter plug.

I really like this very portable light. I live in a retirement community and carry it with me when I want to read or draw outside of my apartment.

Aweful Batter Operated Short Life Lamp

This light is battery operated which means it will last you about one solid painting/drawing session but will the slowly start to fade and burn out the batteries after a few hours. The illumination is great, but it simply starts to die within 4 to 5 hours. not worth the money- buy one that is wired, not battery operated*

I like the product

To the person who rated earlier. I've had one of these for years and I DO NOT use it on battery power. The usage on battery power is limited. I did use it during a multi-day blackout, but had to change batteries every few hours, but blackouts are rare in my area. I do use it as a portable tabletop reading light, and I bought a separate power supply to do so. Since I probably won't be allowed to mention another web retailer, just suffice it to say that the website has six letters, begins with the letter A and ends with the letter N. Search for the following item, it works perfectly with this light as the plug-in power supply.

Not like the old one

I've had a folding Ott-Lite task Lamp for 12 or so years, and after being used in various ways, it's still going strong. Have replaced the bulb only once. Recently my son asked to use it for a household task, and on returning it said he'd like to have one like it. So I ordered one as a gift for him - but it was available online only. I'd not carefully read the description, thinking it to be very similar to the one I have. When it arrived, the package was so light in weight that my first thought was that someone had forgotten to put the lamp into the box before mailing it. It operates only by batteries - that would be good for traveling, or fine if power is out, but a nuisance otherwise. It is so light weight that the mildest bump would tip it over. So returned it to the local store.

Phenomenal Portable Lamp

This Ott-lite is going to any Workshop I attend - don't need any electric outlets. Throws a good lite for my work - Jewelry, Painting, etc.

Cheap construction for an Ott-Lite

This light is quite flimsy and battery operated. It's nice if you need a portable lamp but a bit costly for what it is.
