Awesome little room AC

Product worked amazingly well all summer long! No water leakage to worry about. I use as a supplement in my bedroom, along with the normal temperature of the house Central AC, which is set to 72 °. My room gets down to about 68°, even when it's over 100° outside All Summer Long.

Stops working after a couple of hours

After a couple of hours it would stop working, called customer service and was told they had problems with this unit. Had to send it back through UPS. It took up to 4 weeks to send me another unit. Black and decker lost my business.

Cools a hot room

I've been using this portable AC for a couple of weeks now and am generally pleased with it. I am using it in a west-facing upstairs bedroom that gets hot even with the house AC on and it cools it off pretty quickly. It is somewhat loud -- but still quieter than the AC in a lot of hotel rooms I have stayed in. I like the timer features and that it has a remote. The temperature gauge is off by 5 degrees though, so when I want the room cooled to 72, I have to set it to 67. Other than that, there are no problems.

Overall, I am pleased with this Portable AC

Installing the hose was quite challenging! My other Portable AC had snap in for the hose which made it easier than turning the hose into the input and output. The machine does work great, though.

Shuts off. Now sensor is crossed with TV remote. TV remote controls the system for some reason and I can’t change my television without turning the air conditioner off

OK for a small room

This B&D AC unit is good for a small room, but it wasn’t powerful enough to cool an adjoining room. So I returned it.

We bought this AC knowing that we would be camping...

We bought this AC knowing that we would be camping in temps that ranged in the high 90’s. We used it at night in our “12” person tent (approx 10’x 15’) and it was great. Only drawback was that there was small pool of water that collected over night. But we were grateful for that the tent was cool at night that we didn't mind it. On our last day, we brought it outside under the palapa to help cool off whoever was cooking etc. It was worth the purchase and we’ll take it along if we ever decide to do tent camping in those temps again. We haven’t used it here at home but it rolls very nicely. One great design that this brand has that you don't see much in other brands is that the vents are in the front vs on the top. It might be better in other situations to have the single vent be on top but for what we needed, it was great that the vents were in the front and could be adjusted up and down and side to side. Very happy with the purchase.

Great little unit to cool a small room

I previously purchased a unit that cooled using water and it did not cool the bedroom. Purchased this unit and it does the job. Cools the room quickly.

Works as expected, with acceptable noise level and cooling power. The vent is a little too stiff which makes installing rather painstaking. Overall very satisfied and would recommend.
