[Rewarded Review] Great features and poor handling by OD

I have no complaints about the chair itself, only Office Depot's handling of my multiple orders. This chair is comfortable, and the wheels roll quite easily on my laminate flooring. It has a lot of nice features, such as an adjustable and locking back rest, adjustable arm height, an adjustable seat height, and the control levers are within easy reach. This color was on backorder for several weeks that ran into months. I ordered it multiple times only to have my order cancelled saying it was out of stock, yet it did not state that on the website, nor did OD ever update their website. I kept ordering it until I finally was successful. However, the chair I received looks like it was a return. The way it was packaged was wonky and there are scrapes on the spokes of the bottom piece. Since I waited so long to get it and it now costs >$20 more (even on sale), I'm going to keep it. My feet will undoubtedly cause marks on the spokes during normal use anyway and I do like the features and price point. I did an extensive search on multiple sites for a chair that best fits my needs at a price I was willing to pay and this was it. I went to several OD stores to try it out/purchase, but it was not available in the store. Many of this chair's features can only be found on higher prices chairs. In my opinion, this fabric, padded chair is much more comfortable than the more expensive mesh chair I'm replacing, although the fabric chair is not ventilated like the mesh chair. To me, it was worth the wait. The advice I have for others is to keep the box and packaging until you decide to keep it. While I was in an OD store, another customer wanted to return a chair purchased online and OD staff and manager told them it was not returnable without the box it came in. The return window is also very short (15 days, I believe) so assemble it and try it out right away.

Chair is on permanent backorder and store knows it

Being told this color is on backorder..but the black one...that is double the price isn't. And, scrolled through reviews and other people are saying the same thing.

It seems that Office Depot’s (OD) business practices are not only annoyingly UNETHICAL but blatantly ILLEGAL. Six times in the past month I have ordered this chair on sale for $127.99 (Item #363891 "WorkPro® Patriot Multifunction Ergonomic Fabric Task Chair, Gray/Black, BIFMA Compliant"). Although the description says Gray/Black, within a few days, OD canceled each of my orders for the gray chair (#363891), but has informed me that the black chair (#363871) is available for $278.54 (a whopping $150.55 price increase). Others have appropriately accused OD of a “bait and switch” scam, but its actions are worse. OD seems to be knowingly and falsely advertising a product (as Gray/Black) and breaking its contracts to sell that product.

My order was cancelled 4 times. The item said that it was in stock but when I called they said that they would update the website and they never did. So I had to buy the more expensive color. It finally arrived, 3 weeks after purchasing, and there was no hardware.

Office Depot repackaged used and returned chair

Office Depot repackaged used and returned chair. There were clear signs of wear and use on the chair parts, and instruction sheet and key screws were missing, but certain parts like wheels were in sealed plastic bag, which leads me to believe Office Depot obviously knew this chair was used and returned but repackaged them with some new sealed parts for a quick sale.

I am 5'2" and this is the best fit chair for shorter people the seat does not hit my knees. I would puruchase this chair again. I have never had a chair for shorter person feel so great.

Short person review!

I'm only 4'8" so finding an office chair that works for me is a challenge and my back has paid the price. This chair is adjustable in enough ways that I'm very comfortable in it, my back feels very well supported, and my feet even graze the ground!

In day-long use since 2004 and still love it

Bought one in 2004, for work, and liked it so much I bought two more for home, (his-n-hers). All three are still in use today, and just as comfortable.

Very sturdy chair and seems comfortable

I just bought this chair to go with my art table that I purchased from Wayfair. I wanted something sturdy and comfortable. My son built it tonight and it was really easy for him to do. I will be trying it out tomorrow to see how it is but it looks like it will be a really nice and comfortable chair for me to sit in at my table doing my drawing and painting.

This chair is adjustable in so many ways - up, down, tilt and back angle - that I can customize it to fit me perfectly! I have two of these chairs purchased 15 years ago that I use in my home office, a satellite office and now my primary work location. I highly recommend this chair, especially if you experience upper and lower back pain due to slumping - this chair keeps me sitting nice and tall and at the right height to avoid wrist issues.

Setup was straightforward and clear. It's a solid chair and the multi adjustments are just what I needed. I'm not concerned it's going to break or come apart like other's I'd looked into. It is physically heavy and I have the impression of solid build materials and construction. I've only used it for a few weeks and I have no complaints. The adjustments are indispensable for me due to back injury.

Nice, but not for me

This is a well constructed, sturdy chair and assembly was easy. The chair has many nice adjustments. Unfortunately, the height adjustment did not lower enough to sit comfortably and the seat depth was to much for a petite person.

Well designed and built

This chair is small enough to fit in my home office. Almost all parts are adjustable to make it comfortable to your size. This come with a minor downside, it is heavy!

Awesome chair

I have had this model chair since 2008. It is a very comfortable chair for those who have back issues. The foam holds up very well. I highly recommend this chair.

I love it, was very easy to put together it is very comfortable.

Not comfortable

For me, this chair did not work. ...... I had a major problem with the control levers getting the incline of the seat and the incline of the back rest right. ..... I also wanted to adjust the resistance of the backrest and I didn't see a way to do it. I fooled with it and finally got sick of it. ..... I put it out by the curb and someone picked it up. I wish them well. ..... I wish you well too. I recommend against this chair.

[Rewarded Review] Great for small spaces

I have a small apartment, and I sometimes work from home and quilt. I was looking for a functional chair that would last me several years, as well as provide comfort for long periods of sitting. The chair has man adjustable options for the arms and back. Extremely easy to put together. I bought this chair based on many of the reviews on this product. I’ve only had the chair about 2 weeks. So far so good.
